Jeff Sessions Pushes Back On Parts Of Comey's Testimony

Source: Talking Points Memo

By CAITLIN MACNEAL Published JUNE 9, 2017 8:06 AM

In a Thursday evening statement, a spokesman for Attorney General Jeff Sessions pushed back on several aspects of former FBI Director James Comey’s testimony in the Senate on Thursday.

Sessions spokesman Ian Prior said that the attorney general recused himself from the Russia probes for the sole reason that he was a surrogate for the Trump campaign. Prior also disputed Comey’s recollection of how Sessions responded when the former FBI director told him not to let Trump meet with Comey alone again.

“Given Attorney General Sessions’ participation in President Trump’s campaign, it was for that reason, and that reason alone, the Attorney General made the decision on March 2, 2017 to recuse himself from any existing or future investigations of any matters related in any way to the campaigns for President of the United States,” Prior said in the statement.

During his testimony, Comey mentioned Russia when explaining why he and other FBI staffers expected Sessions to recuse himself from Russia-related probes weeks before the attorney general stepped aside from the investigation.

Everyone knows Sessions had to recuse himself
because he's neck deep in Russian collusions.
Sessions is still lying about it... and keeps getting caught !!!
Just resign, already.

Having a no compassion attitude about justice, especially with victimless crimes.

How could Sessions possibly know what Comey and Trump discussed once he left the room? Comey comes up to him later and says "don't leave me alone with Trump again" but Sessions doesn't ask why or what was discussed? Even if Sessions did know the topic was Russia he wasn't asked to discuss or participate in it, just run interference with his boss when he is directly trying to communicate with a direct report employee. Sessions could easily have done that without interfering with the recusal.

... what the one-on-one meeting was about. Comey said Sessions sort of dallied around and looked "concerned" when the Shit Gibbon ordered everyone out of the room. Then, afterwards, Comey tells Sessions "don't ever leave me alone with him again". The Dir of the FBI says THAT to you, and you're his boss, and you don't say "Why? What happened?" Only one rational conclusion to be drawn from that side show. Sessions already KNEW what Trump was doing.

JMHO.
