Trump Treasury nominee misrepresented Dartmouth degree

Source: The Hill

BY JOHN BOWDEN - 06/09/17 03:26 PM EDT

President Trump's nominee to run a U.S. regulator office has been misrepresenting his college degree, Bloomberg News reported Friday.

Joseph Otting, Trump's pick to run the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, listed a degree on his resume from the "School of Credit and Financial Management at Dartmouth College." But that school was never affiliated with Dartmouth and no longer operates in any Dartmouth facilities.

"Joseph Otting is not a Dartmouth graduate," Dartmouth spokeswoman Diana Lawrence told New England Cable News on Wednesday. "Dartmouth does not have a school of credit and financial management."

In fact, the school is actually a four-week program spread over two years run by the National Association of Credit Management (NACM), a nonprofit Maryland organization that certifies professionals in the credit management field with a continuing education course, which describes itself as "the leader in executive education for the credit and financial management community."

First the applicant clearly lied on his resume. He may, or may not, know enough from experience to fill the position but he chose to lie. He most likely did not need to lie and could have cited the completion of the continuing ed. course with number of years working in the field. He obviously has the networking connections down.

More importantly it shows his stupidity. He should have just stayed with the fucking position he had if he felt he was not qualified and needed the resume puffery padding. If he knew his resume was false, he should have known it would be found out for a more prominent position in government.

Also, who the fuck vets these people??

it was supposed to be a joke, playing off how Trump at one time blamed Obama for not vetting Flynn. I'm right there with you, this is something any administration should have caught during the vetting process, but I think it's been clear for a while that the Trump administration is in waaaaaaay over its collective head. Is there even a single Trump appointee who is qualified for the post they hold?

Between degrees, credentials and CPEs (credit hours of Continuing Professional Education).

One of my organizations did an internal audit of staff's claimed degrees and credentials. They found one who had let his credential lapse. He had to do a LOT of groveling to the state board to be reinstated.
