Steve King Partly Blames Obama For Divisive Politics That Led To Shooting

Rep. Steve King (R-IA), a longtime proponent of the birther conspiracy theory aimed at undermining Barack Obamas presidency, on Wednesday partly blamed the former President for political divisions King claimed led to a shooting at congressional Republicans baseball practice that left six people injured.
I do want to put some of this at the feet of Barack Obama, King said on Iowa radio station WHO, as flagged by CNNs KFILE. He contributed mightily to dividing us. He focused on our differences rather than our things that unify us. And this is some of the fruits of that labor.
King, no stranger to divisive remarks himself, suggested in 2012 that Obamas parents could have made false announcements in U.S. newspapers of Obamas birth by telegram from Kenya.
He gave an infamous interview in 2013 in which he claimed that for every DREAMer who becomes a valedictorian theres another 100 out there that weigh 130 pounds and theyve got calves the size of cantaloupes because theyre hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert. (John Boehner, then House speaker for Kings own conference, responded: What an asshole.)

(21,946 posts)of the gardens in the fall into them. We have 4 families who garden in our back yard, each having a large section, plus our own garden. I think they are about 20x50 each.
Makes for a lot of material to compost.
We don't allow neighbors to add their grass clipping to it because we don't want to take a chance for weed killers to get mixed in, this way we know what goes into it.
Build out of patio block on the bottom and cement blocks for the sides, we could make them as large as we wanted. Used to have one section, but with all the gardens we needed 2 of them

(16,869 posts)To the point that it's like they're robots spewing the same lines again and again. But I never understood, and I still don't, the accusation that Obama was "divisive" and "focused on our differences".
The only thing I can wrap my head around is that somehow in their lily white, Evangelical worlds that somehow a strong leader who is a POC, who championed the right of all Americans and chose to highlight our diversity as a strength...that that equates to divisiveness. Just another bigoted dog whistle I suppose

Then there were the times he sent around emails showing himself in full African tribal attire and sometimes he'd throw in a bonus: the picture of watermelons growing on the White House lawn. He barely had time to hang all the nooses for the faux lynchings, but President Obama is a man with much energy. I still don't know how he counterfeited his birth certificate so well.
