Scotland Yard launches criminal inquiry

Police have opened a criminal investigation into the tower block fire that has killed at least 17 people. A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: We have appointed a senior investigating officer.
Police have said they are not yet in a position to define how the investigation will be carried out and what, specifically, will be its focus. But they said they hope to release more details soon.

We as the police have started an investigation, I mentioned when I was down at the scene this morning that one of our very senior investigating officers is leading that for us, the commander said.
We as the police, we investigate criminal offences - I am not sitting here and saying there are criminal offences that have been committed, thats why you do an investigation, to establish it.

Puke policies kill us, literally. Anywhere in the world. But I'm sure the wealthy enjoyed their tax cuts.

(11,096 posts)Apparently the difference in price between the cheap siding and a the type that may have prevented the fire from spreading so quickly was just a few thousand dollars. Several people said they heard no alarms. Such a devastating fire.
