Russia claims it has killed ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in airstrike

Source: New York Daily News

Russia's military said Friday that it killed the leader of the Islamic State group in an airstrike on a meeting of IS leaders outside of Raqqa, Syria last month.

A spokesman for the U.S.-led anti-Islamic State coalition said Friday morning that he could not confirm the report.

If confirmed, the takedown would represent a major military achievement for Russia.
