Putin: more U.S. sanctions would be harmful, talk of retaliation premature

Source: Reuters

Russian President Vladimir Putin said new sanctions under consideration by the United States would damage relations between the two countries, but it was too early to talk about retaliation, state news agency RIA reported on Saturday.

The U.S. Senate voted nearly unanimously earlier this week for legislation to impose new sanctions on Moscow and force President Donald Trump to get Congress' approval before easing any existing sanctions.

"This will, indeed, complicate Russia-American relations. I think this is harmful," Putin said, according to RIA.

In an interview with Rossiya1 state TV channel, excerpts of which were shown during the day on Saturday, Putin said he needed to see how the situation with sanctions evolved. "That is why it is premature to speak publicly about our retaliatory actions," RIA quoted him as saying.

Short of thermal nuclear war. The United States is the aggrieved Party, not Russia.

in Russia right now we would be in an even worse position.

The Republican Party, through a combination of carelessness, greed, calculation, willful withholding of facts, and promotion of lies, allowed Trump to attain a position of power and become a danger to our country.

Right now with Trump in office we are on the edge of disaster. A sudden change in leadership in Russia to a more disorganized or impetuous strongman type , or the occurrence of a great natural disaster while Trum is in office could plunge us into disaster.

It is the Republican Party under the leadership of Reince Priebus that placed us in this position.

Don't be surprised if more sanctions are coming Russia's way.

What is Vlad demanding? Rewards for interfering with our elections?

WTF retaliation is he going to do? Refuse to sell us vodka? Russia is basically the most advanced of the 3rd world countries. It's infrastructure is a mess, they can't build shit, the oligarchs own everything, and a big part of their population are alcoholics. The Obama era sanctions were hurting them, and badly. Fuck him.

F*ck off Vlad. How 'bout we boycott the World Cup? Once the Orange Gang is out of Pennsylvania Ave. and safely behind bars, we should embargo all Russian energy products period.
