Peep this Arizona lawmaker who doesn't want college students to vote

Source: USA Today

By Kalina Newman 9:27 pm EDT June 22, 2017

Voting matters, period. In fact, Arizona State Rep. Bob Thorpe thinks that a college student’s vote matters so much that it waters down his district. As a result, Thorpe, a Republican, does not want out-of-state Arizona college students to vote in Arizona.

The area Thorpe represents includes Northern Arizona University. According to a Niche.com survey, the university has 22,000 enrolled students, only 17% of whom are Republican.

So the perceived influx of liberal student voters has clearly made an impact on Thorpe. Constituents of Thorpe’s recently voted to increase minimum wage, a move that the Rep. had strongly opposed.

So he’s coming out against college student voters, saying they “dilute the votes” in his district.

reasonable and life affirming to offer those college students, they would stay and become permanent residents. Oh, wait he is a republican, a contradiction

I never thought about college students. What's the standard? When do they become residents?

From voting. Only if you live 12 months in Arizona can you vote. A lot if them live elsewhere and return in October and vote in the elections. Then they leave in March. How about restricting those people?

9. Shit, Repugs don't want women, college students or brown people to be able to vote.

It dilutes their oh so important old white men demographic to hell and back. Sad, but extremely true. Drumpf even has a commission out on how to prevent these people from voting, he's just lied about it and says he's trying to stop illegal voting. Only Russia approved voters allowed, per him and Putin.
