Budget Office: Senate Health Care Bill Would Leave 22 Million More Uninsured

Source: New York Times

WASHINGTON — The Senate bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act would increase the number of people without health insurance by 22 million by 2026, a figure that is only slightly lower than the 23 million more uninsured that the House version would create, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said Monday.

Next year, 15 million more people would be uninsured compared with current law, the budget office said.

The legislation would decrease federal deficits by a total of $321 billion over a decade, the budget office said.

The release of the budget office’s analysis comes as a number of reluctant Republican senators weigh whether to support the health bill, which the majority leader, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, wants approved before a planned recess for the Fourth of July.

It was done that way because the CBO scores for 10 years.

Are we forgetting all those billions returning to Americans with incomes over $250,000 a year. Just think how many bottles of aged, single-malt Scotch you can by with the money. And your wine cellar? It won't be able to hold the bottles.

6. I wish the CBO would quit talking about the Bill providing deficit reduction of $300 Billion.

The GOPer plan might reduce the "deficit," but it achieves that by throwing 20+ million people off of insurance plans and not paying adequate subsidies.

My guess is, GOPers aren't going to get upset about the CBO report. Little of the bad stuff will happen for several years, so their constituents won't know what hit them in 2019 and 2020.

The Senate bill won't reduce the deficit by a penny if they give the 300 billion to their rich friends in the form of a tax cut. Which is exactly what they plan to do.

7. Never do we see a study of what the increase in medical costs will be to the insured
Mon Jun 26, 2017, 04:33 PM

due to the number of uninsured people having to use emergency rooms again. The cost of that has to be enormous and does not seem to be taken into consideration. If such a study has been done, I would appreciate someone pointing me in that direction.

"The Senate bill would increase the number of people who are uninsured by 22 million in 2026 relative to the number under current law, slightly fewer than the increase in the number of uninsured estimated for the House-passed legislation. By 2026, an estimated 49 million people would be uninsured, compared with 28 million who would lack insurance that year under current law."

...that is it.......we need to know..nothing more......

Who is in favor of that one sentence?
For what reason are they in favor of this law?
Are those people the ones who are going to loose health insurance?
Are those in favor those who hate Obama and want to destroy his legacy?
Are those in favor of this law people care about those who will lose health insurance?
Are those in favor of this law people who care about this nations level of healthcare? (for all people?)

that is enough...........who is in favor of this law???
