BREAKING: McConnell to delay the vote on health care bill until after July 4 recess
Source: CNN
(CNN)Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell will delay the vote on the Republican leadership's health care bill until after the July 4 recess, two sources told CNN.
McConnell told GOP senators that he wants to make changes to the bill, get a new Congressional Budget Office score and have a vote after the holiday.
A White House official and a GOP aide on the Hill told CNN that White House chief of staff Reince Priebus and Vice President Mike Pence invited all Republican senators to White House on Tuesday afternoon.
Republican leadership, along with Pence, had sought earlier to woo members of their own party into supporting the fragile health care bill behind closed doors Tuesday, as a fifth senator came out against voting for a procedural step to advance their plans to repeal and replace Obamacare.

After all, the shepherds care for their flocks to make them easier to fleece. Those horrid little people in their ugly Wal Mart clothes should know their places and bend over quietly!

|***Facing GOP opposition, Senate leaders postpone vote to overhaul Obamacare
By Sean Sullivan, Kelsey Snell and Juliet Eilperin June 27 at 1:24 PM
Facing a rebellion within their own ranks, Senate Republican leaders on Tuesday postponed a vote to overhaul the 2010 Affordable Care Act until after the July 4th recess.
The current proposal by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) would cause an estimated 22 million more Americans to be uninsured by the end of the coming decade while reducing federal spending by $321 billion during that time, the Congressional Budget Office concluded Monday.
The forecast by Congresss nonpartisan budget scorekeepers appeared to rapidly erode Republicans confidence in the bill, with at least five GOP lawmakers saying that they would vote against even a procedural motion to start debate.

(129,123 posts)And they will probably do that.
As a note, the 4 RW loon Senators (Johnson, Lee, Paul, Cruz) were ALL elected in 2010 (or the election after in 2012) in the "repeal Obamacare" wave. To them, "repeal" is their "mandate" and is what got them elected.

(129,123 posts)to allow Collins and Heller to vote "no" and everyone else lock steps with Pence to break the tie. Meaning pressure on Portman and Murkowski would be paramount to not let that happen (but it seems a bit doubtful at this point).

(129,123 posts)Six arrested in Capitos office after day of protesting health care bill
Jake Zuckerman , Staff Writer
Authorities detained six protesters Monday who refused to leave Sen. Shelley Moore Capitos Charleston office without an assurance that she will oppose the U.S. Senates rewrite of the American Health Care Act.
Kayla Parker, Joe Solomon, Terry Pickett, Jim Lewis, Bill Price and Paul Dalzell were taken out of the office complex in handcuffs at roughly 5:30 p.m. All six said they were prepared and willing to be arrested from the onset of the protest.
I came here today to say to Shelley Moore Capito that we will not leave here until she votes no on this health care bill or we are taken out by arrest, Price said. At that, its almost 5 oclock, and we are determined.
The arrests came amid a flurry of citizen activism with related protests occurring outside Capitos office starting just after noon. Roughly 75 people rallied outside the building, urging the West Virginia Republican to vote against the Better Care Reconciliation Act of 2017, the formal title of the Senates rewrite of the Houses AHCA.

(14,919 posts)while they are in their home districts over the break. Especially true if you are in a red state with GOP senators. These hypocrites will in many instances be using the 4th of July to strut their phony "patriotism." Don't let the opportunities for demonstrating against the AHCA at any of their public appearances slide by. The life you save by defeating this immoral mess may be your own, or that if your dearest loved one.

The down side is: The reason they are short votes is in part due to it not being strict or cruel enough. Costing too much. Too much like Obamacare.
While at the same time the CBO score is bad. How they are going to jive the two sides of that coin, I don't know.

What's likely is a bill that says "give us all your money" and incomes and you can
have health care. Can't afford it? Get a job.
Chief Justice Roberts enabled this. He told us Obamacare was a tax. That gave GOP
Senators ideas of how to tax poorer Americans more. Cut taxes on the rich, raise them
on the poor, and take away poor healthcare while you're at it.
