White House encourages viewing of anti-CNN James O'Keefe video.
Conservative provocateur James O'Keefe of Project Veritas released Wednesday another secretly recorded tape of a CNN employee, this time featuring political commentator and host Van Jones saying the networks heavy coverage of possible collusion between Trump administration officials and Russia during the 2016 presidential election is just a big nothingburger."
The Russia thing is just a big nothingburger. Theres nothing there you can do," Jones says to a person who introduces himself on the street as someone who had met Jones "in Palm Springs" a few years ago.
Jones appears to recognize the person he is speaking to, but does not seem to know he is being taped.

(5,480 posts)he's using very selectively edited short bits of sentences, without any real context left in as to what was really being said. He cut Jones' statement when he was obviously saying a LOT more right after what was left in.

(36,437 posts)connection, and many are still doing it. That they've been proven wrong every step of the way is obvious to anybody who isn't a desperate hanger-on. It's not clear at all to me why it has to be either or: either the Dems were too "neoliberal" or the election was seriously compromised by criminal collusion with a foreign state. If you have half a brain, it's clearly both, but some on the left have this moronic obsession with it only being the first, and they cannot stop choking out that "Russia didn't matter," even as it becomes more and more clear that the Trump campaign was involved in a criminal conspiracy with the Russian state apparatus at all levels.

The right is making fake news to repeat until they convince uninformed people that it is true. They're lying snakes.

(7,476 posts)Van Jones believes the investigation is a waste but not because he's sure nothing happened. He says its a waste because it would be so difficult to prove it did. Van Jones believes the Democrats would be better off putting their efforts into other issues.

(4,490 posts)It's O'Keefe. Van Jones isn't some insider either. He's an opinion guy.
It's WaPo and some other traditional newspaper outlets that have been doing the heavy lifting on the Russia stories anyway.
