Miss. official on Trump voter fraud request: 'They can go jump in the Gulf of Mexico'

Source: The Hill

BY BROOKE SEIPEL - 06/30/17 05:29 PM EDT

Mississippi Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann (R) announced Friday that the state would join more than 20 others refusing to turn over voter roll data to President Trump's voter fraud commission, adding that members of the panel could "go jump in the Gulf of Mexico."

The voter fraud commission on Thursday sent letters to all 50 states asking for voters' names, birthdays, the last four digits of their Social Security numbers and their voting history dating back to 2006.

Hosemann said in a statement that he hadn't yet received such a letter, but when he did his response would be: "They can go jump in the Gulf of Mexico and Mississippi is a great State to launch from."

"Mississippi residents should celebrate Independence Day and our State’s right to protect the privacy of our citizens by conducting our own electoral processes,” his statement continued.

There has been no announcement from either NM Gov. Susana la Tejana Martinez. She's shown no love for Asshole in the past but she's been erratic of late.

The man with very low approval ratings, who hasn't signed a single deal with anyone, who can't find enough people foolish to work for him, or even get any of his campaign promises passed, and is reduced to staging rites of adulation by his paid sycophants, and is so intimidated by world leaders that he's down to taking cheap potshots at TV celebrities, probably expected every red state to fall in line. No clout Trump, is a toothless old geezer.

---snip---

Kentucky's secretary of State delivered a biting rejection on Friday of a presidential voter fraud commission's broad request for voter registration information, saying "there's not enough bourbon" in Kentucky to convince her to comply with the demand.

"There's not enough bourbon here in Kentucky to make this request seem sensible," Alison Lundergan Grimes (D) said on MSNBC. "Not on my watch are we going to be releasing sensitive information that relate to the privacy of individuals."

"Not on my watch are we going to be turning over something that's left to the states to run – elections are left to our states under the 10th Amendment – to the federal government."

Kentucky is among at least 24 states that have either wholly or in part rejected a request by the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity to hand over key voter registration information as part of its investigation into President Trump's claims of widespread illegal voting.
