Higher percentage of Americans want Trump's impeachment than wanted Nixon's as Watergate escalated:

A higher percentage of Americans support President Donald Trump's impeachment than supported President Richard Nixon's as Watergate was escalating, according to a Monmouth poll.
Forty-one percent of Americans think Trump "should be impeached and compelled to leave the presidency," versus 53 percent who do not, according to the poll. That compares with 24 percent who supported Nixon's impeachment and 62 percent who did not in July 1973, when the Watergate scandal was escalating and about a year before Nixon resigned.
Support for Trump's impeachment is higher than Nixon's was even though the pair had roughly the same approval rating at those points in time, according to Monmouth.
The telephone poll of 800 people was conducted from July 13 to July 16 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.

(51,608 posts)That is the most complete, quick, non partisan, fully staffed, etc way we can get ALL of them (including Pence, Ryan, McConnell, and the rest). I attended a rally for that type of investigation in June and we almost closed down the 5 freeway in San Diego.
Meanwhile, my sign from the Impeachment March on July 3 is staying behind my bedroom door since I will be getting a lot of use out of it. I took it to the Pride Parade on Sat and it got raves. So does my handmade "impeachment" bumper sticker.
RESIST!

(1,570 posts)I don't think it's going to mean much this time either. Republicans will not impeach. Period.

Oh, it would be great to see dons suitcases on the
street, kicked out. But I'd rather the russky connection
flower into the century's biggest crime, the largest
threat against this country's saftey....and most
important that the country sees that and
understands the danger. Enough to rid
the congress of conservatives in the
next elections.
