Newly-named White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci on Saturday praised conservative news site Breitbart News and its political editor Matt Boyle during his first interview since being tapped to join the Trump administration.
One of the things Breitbart has done is you've captured the spirit of what's actually going on in the country, Scaramucci told Boyle during an interview on "Breitbart News Saturday" on SiriusXM.
Scaramucci further joked with Boyle that he was surprised the editor had not sent in his resume for West Wing consideration yet.
Scaramucci said he is aiming to get Trump's unfiltered message through to his supporters via the president's Twitter feed, bypassing mainstream outlets that Trump often calls "fake news" while hoping to de-escalate what Scaramucci sees as unfairness and bias in the media.

We're witnessing the full scale assault on our Constitution and our country...a segment of our country is cheering this with idiotic glee...how much more will we allow, how much more can our society take, and, finally, how many will look up from their phones and iPads long enough to notice? Most of us grew up fearing Orwellian tactics, and rightfully so, but, I personally believe, Huxley was far more prescient.

In any case, free society can be killed by those who think in terms of masses but never the free thought of people.

(13,058 posts)After all. Trump and his supporters are enjoying their circle jerk attended by Breitbart, Limbaugh and Hannity.
Edit - Yes I know Breitbart is deceased. I was referring to the current editors of that fascist rag.

(1,148 posts)The only people I know who like Breitbart are hardcore Trumpies.
Even conservatives I know don't like it - they don't like the sensationalism, the screaming ads everywhere, and all of the racists who use the site.
Moreover, Breitbart's editor has said he wants to destroy all of mainstream media. They've done nothing to distance themselves from the fascists who support and use Breitbart - in fact, they've encouraged them.
It's just more proof that we're in a very disturbing era in which extremism is being normalized. One thing I don't like about the mainstream media is that they are helping.
