Chris Christie dismissed the global outrage over his decision to lounge on a beach closed to the public during the government shutdown as born of the public's "unfairness" and "ignorance," and said he's avoided looking at the global meme sensation he and his beach chair have become.

Appearing on his monthly call-in radio program "Ask the Governor on NJ 101.5 FM, Christie said the outrage that ensued from his beach outing said that the blowback hurt his kids more than anything else that's happened in his time as governor.

"They were more hurt by this latest episode than they've been hurt by anything else that has happened in the eight years and they don't understand people's unfairness and, quite frankly, their ignorance," he said during Thursday night's broadcast.

After NJ Advance Media published pictures of Christie and his family alone on 10-miles of Island Beach State Park shore

You hurt them by not teaching them fairness and equality before the law. You hurt them by not teaching them that just because they are the governor's kids, they aren't entitled to go to a public beach that is closed to the public. You're a rich man, you could have afforded to pay for a vacation at a private beach, or a public beach in another state. Shame on you for using your kids as your manipulation to hide your arrogance.

And who helped create that viciousness, Mr. Beachchair Commando? Could it have been loud mouthed blow hards like you and your bud, tRump? Might not things have been less vicious if you had taken a kinder, gentler tone against your opponents? If tRump had not stood in front of thousands and openly mocked a disabled reporter? If you had simply not told your own state citizens to sit down and shut up? Do you think people would have taken a kinder view of you and been less harsh in their criticism if just once you had kept your temper and snarky mouth in check?

So now that you know words and tone matter, can we be assured you will consider how someone on the receiving end of YOUR SCORN will feel? Or what about the feelings of THEIR children? Are you a changed man who sees the error of your ways?

Oh, well, I didn't really think so. You will be back to your same asinine self in no time. Losers like you never learn. Don't expect the rest of us to shed a tear the next time you are in the hot seat.

That's just the way it goes. Grow a heart, recognize that the tax payers of your state deserved to be able to relax at the beach on the Fourth, and you can have people not be rude and hurt your kids.
