Trump's evangelical adviser: God's OK with U.S. bombing North Korea

Texas pastor Robert Jeffress, one of President Trump's evangelical advisers, said that God has given the president "full control" to take out North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
In a statement to CBN News Tuesday, the First Baptist Dallas pastor wrote that a biblical passage in the book of Romans endowed "rulers full power to use whatever means necessary including war to stop evil."
"In the case of North Korea, God has given Trump authority to take out Kim Jong-Un," Jeffress told CBN News. "Im heartened to see that our president contrary to what weve seen with past administrations who have taken, at best, a sheepish stance toward dictators and oppressors will not tolerate any threat against the American people."
Jeffress' comments were made public the same day Trump promised "fire and fury" on the reclusive nation and its leader if it didn't abandon its nuclear program. North Korea responded to Trump's aggressive stance with a threat to strike the U.S. territory of Guam.

(19,204 posts)if god thinks they're evil, smite the hell out of them. But in your regular, everyday dealings with others, eh......no killing. It's difficult for me to determine which of the opposing forces qualifies as "evil" though. If the reading of pastor Jeffress scattered chicken bones is off by just a little it could be Trump who gets the evil finger pointed at him. Then WE'RE screwed!

17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.
18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for Gods wrath, for it is written: It is mine to avenge; I will repay,[a] says the Lord.
20 On the contrary:
If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Shut the fuck up, Jeffress.
See, right there in the Bible: "Shut the fuck up, Jeffress." Glory to God.

(42,288 posts)Seriously--during WWII, the best way to get intel from German POWs was to treat them right, be sympathetic, let them know they had been duped but we didn't hate them for the stupidity of their leaders...let them see we weren't the REAL enemy and that we didn't believe in torture or hate them. Takes time but works 100% better than evil for evil.

I'm already sick of this shit spreading around that Obama or others should have handled Kim earlier. Why? That fucking nut isn't going to do jack. He knows damn well he will be killed inside of a week and his whole shit house destroyed.
Trump is merely taking advantage of this situation to get the focus off his traitorous dealing

While the world is burning around them they will hold hands and sing His praises knowing soon it will finally be over and they will be in Heaven and all those nasty libtard God haters that refused to say Merry Christmas will finally be proven wrong and burn forever.

(33,643 posts)He's saying that biblical passages support Trump 'taking out' Kim ... And that's, of course, based on the ABSOLUTELY 100% unquestionable stance that he represents 'evil', and the US represents 'good' ... because you know, there's no 'grey' in matters of this nature. Lol ...
The implication is that the (crazy) adviser dude is saying "God supports NUKING N. Korea".
But that's not what he said.
He said God would support 'taking out' Kim. Which could obviously be accomplished (or not) via NUMEROUS possible means. But he said nothing about 'bombing', nuke-ular or otherwise.
As much as I hate the whole sitch in general, AND Kim, AND this GUY, and this PINO ... I'd rather not resort to twisting the facts.
We don't need to.
BTW, Kim ... ain't gonna DOOOOOO ... SHIT.
This is his GAME, he's trying to extort money (and other help) out of the West, just as his daddy did.

(19,204 posts)I want to see it in writing, and I want it notarized. Anyone can CLAIM they have a hotline to the mythic angry daddy in the sky, but I want written proof. A legal, binding agreement, if you will.
Besides, any pastor who believes Trump has cleaned up his act and is now living the life of the lord, is not propelling his rowboat with both oars in the water. In plain English, HE'S FUCKING CRAZY!
Anyone who says they communicate with a fictitious religious figure is only fooling the gullible fools who believe him in the first place. "Preaching to the choir", I believe is the phrase most often used by these hucksters. He's not going to convince a single critical thinker that he possesses magical powers.
Now, pass the collection plates, and give from the heart, because only the amount of your holy bribe will determine if god decides to forestall this nuclear holocaust.

(22,156 posts)We know that tRUMP didn't serve in the service (bone spurs, yeah, really?!...coward), and the pastor (and I could be wrong here) probably didn't. If he did, he doesn't realize what war really is, and he needs to go to Japan and see the destruction caused by weapons 1/1000th the size of the weapons today...
I guarantee you that there are tens of thousands of our US Veterans who do truly understand the dangers of war, and its' unpredictable nature...maybe the pastor's church will serve fried chicken to all of the victims of the upcoming war?
