Ex-RNC chair: Trumps Charlottesville press conference was a big middle finger to the country
Source: Raw Story
Former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele on Wednesday unloaded on President Donald Trumps Tuesday press conference where he said there were some very fine people who attended last weeks white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Steele began by saying that Trump had a real opportunity this week to unite Americans and show the country that he had no tolerance for white supremacists but he quickly blew that chance in spectacular fashion.
He saw the moment and he ducked, and he continues to duck, Steele said. We have, in our face, a situation where theres someone who has elevated the hate machines in this country to the level of the presidency.
In noting that Trumps statement on Monday condemning white supremacists seemed half-hearted, Steele said that Trumps defiant press conference on Tuesday seemed to more genuinely reflect the presidents true feelings.

"Yesterday was a big middle finger to the country in so many ways by the president, said Steele. He said, finally, Im going to do this my way and tell you what I really believe, we now see the man for who he is."
Steele also referred to Trump as a Frankenstein monster, "This playing to the its not even baser instincts. This is just raw, ugly, racism and hatred, Steele said. What, for votes? And so this is the Frankenstein monster thats been created from a campaign that gave license to that.

(129,074 posts)He will NEVER EVER "change" or "pivot" or in any way "act Presidential". He is the scum of the earth elevated to the most powerful position in the most powerful country in the world. And because he is highly sensitive to criticism, and that criticism is now magnified a thousand times more than he was accustomed to in his past life due to the position he is in, that has only made it worse and his behavior has become tyrannical. He is becoming a walking bleating seething orange blob of hate.

(30,745 posts)They knew before he was elected. They know now. The voters knew. The media knew. We were warned.
People knew about Hitler, too. Ask honest Germans. There were a few. They knew.
So are we going to do something before it is too late? As far as I am concerned, he should not be allowed to finish his term.
