Ryan breaks with Trump on Arpaio pardon

Source: The Hill

BY BROOKE SEIPEL - 08/26/17 05:36 PM EDT

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) disagrees with President Trump's decision to pardon former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, The Wall Street Journal reported Saturday.

"The speaker does not agree with the decision,” Ryan's spokesman Doug Andres told The Wall Street Journal. “Law-enforcement officials have a special responsibility to respect the rights of everyone in the United States. We should not allow anyone to believe that responsibility is diminished by this pardon.”

The White House announced on Friday the president would pardon Arpaio, who had been found guilty of racially profiling.

Arpaio was scheduled to be sentenced in October.

He stands behind Trump, but says "obeying the law is a good thing," to protect himself and point to that in the future, when he's running for President.

Uh huh.

Ever notice how when right-wingers decide to throw out all precedent and rewrite the law to benefit a single RW person that such actions should not be taken as setting a precendent in the law?

Arpaio yesterday.

I was just writing earlier that all of these statements, and Twitter postings, and interviews with the media amount to nothing. At a certain point these so-called Representatives up the people need to put up or shut up and that moment is long past. They need to spend less time worrying about reelection in their base and more time exercising their Duty by honoring their oath of office.

These men claim to love the Constitution so much and yet they allow the orange menace to piss all over it everyday.

...he does agree. He's in a position of power and should be taking action, not issuing weak statements. A strong condemnation should be Ryan's first move, followed by action.

So that they don't have to. They're all sitting with the thumbs up their ass waiting for Mueller. If he comes up with evidence and they have a scapegoat they can blame it on him when election time comes around and pretend they had no choice. They're all gutless

Ryan is the most fortunate man in all of this:

Hes 3rd in line to the presidency

No matter what, unless the American people start to actually think things through and do the right thing in the midterms in kicking all these bums out, he could practically do whatever he wants.

Ryan could seriously singlehandedly kick Drumpf out alone by himself with the 25th amendment.

He should start wearing women's underwear on his face because he's the biggest pussy on this planet!

A main challenger to Trump ( or possibly Pence) in 2020.

Making moves already with major donors and oh so carefully (he thinks) statements to the press.

We are on to the "Googly-eyed Granny Starver" (aka Charles Pierce appellation) and we MUST make his deficiencies clearly understood by the electorate.

Better yet, dethrone him in 2018. But even that may not stop him with the BIG MONEY flowing his way.

His weaseling weak apologetics do nothing but make him look more odious than he already was.
