GOP Representative Puts Forward Proposal To Kill Mueller Probe

Source: Talking Points Memo

By NICOLE LAFOND Published AUGUST 29, 2017 8:16 AM

Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) has put forward a provision that would make deep cuts to resources committed to special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into President Donald Trump’s campaign and its ties to Russian officials, Politico reported.

The amendment is one of hundreds filed as part of the government spending package the House is set to review when it returns from recess next week.

The proposal would end funding for the investigation within six months of passage and would prohibit the probe from touching any event that occurred before June 2015, when Trump launched his campaign.

“Congress should use its spending power to clarify the scope and limit the duration of this investigation,” he said in a statement to Politico, calling the investigation a “fishing expedition.”

How many of those hearings were there, again? All they did was prove that Issa, Gowdy and a few others are idiots trying to become famous. Now everyone knows how stupid they are. This useless pos should get his fellow gop members to stop the drain on the taxpayers that the tRump family is taking. They are draining the treasury, FAST.

This investigation is far more intensive, broad and important that it will likely require more funds than what was spent on Benghazi.

The intent is solely to cover dumps ass for gain.

to reallocate Mueller's resources towards rebuilding oil refineries or some such BS

The fact that they are trying to squash it makes me suspect there is something to it and Mueller's close to finding proof

Try more than $80-million. That's what was admitted in 1999, so you know the real number is higher.

I wish and hope Mueller will come up with something soon. Because one of these times this will work, or Trump will fire Mueller, or Trumps team will dig some dirt up on Mueller or his top cohorts, that they can blow up out of proportion on their favorite TV network.
