If they can't go after an ambassador but can bring bogus charges against a diplomat's kid -- that would be a problem.

a life time ban from ever stepping foot in the country even if its for something simple like a connecting flight will send a strong enough message that some shit will not be tolerated.

...makes a point of prosecuting her. With Tories in charge, and the high possibility of the girl being of 'prominent stock', I wouldn't hold my breath though?

Also worth bearing in mind, many of these 'high end' expat schools, we have British/American/French/ German International Schools here in the Middle East, also attract privileged/diplomatic families' kids from a whole host of different nations. I imagine BIS Washington will also cater for similar? She may not be a Brit?

Not running to blind nationalistic defensive excuses here; if she is a Brit, my first line applies!

Just done some further research, appears she is the daughter of a German Embassy Staffer.

Daily 'Wail' probably rejoicing that the girl is a despicable EU/German?

Labeling her a "sociopath" seems a bit harsh given that we know absolutely nothing about the circumstances.

For all we know, he was a bully and has a history of bullying her, and she finally decided to fight back. Sometimes bullies need a hard lesson. It is also possible she is troubled and just did it for the hell of it. I'd like to know.

...stabbed a 13 yr old boy and he is expected to be okay. But what I find offensive is not the same as the angle that this reporter finds about "diplomatic immunity" and that the child was not arrested. Perhaps the girl would not be arrested because there is still an investigation going on and perhaps when we have actual facts about what happened, perhaps there wouldn't have been any charges anyway.

Proper reporting would be that a juvenile girl stabbed a juvenile boy with scissors and its currently being investigated. The juvenile girl is a daughter of a member of the diplomatic community. Juvenile boy expected to recover.

We don't know until an investigation is conducted and completed showing what happened if it would result in charges. How do we know that this stabbing wasn't in self defense? Maybe she was being sexually harassed and assaulted and she was defending herself? That doesn't mean I am okay with stabbing, but we don't know what happened and neither does that asshole journalist with the hat thinking he has the scoop of the century on his news beat.
