White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Monday pushed back on ousted White House chief strategist Steve Bannons claim that President Donald Trumps decision to fire James Comey as director of the FBI was the biggest mistake in modern political history.
I think that weve been pretty clear what our position is, and certainly I think that that has been shown in the days that followed, that the President was right in firing Director Comey, Sanders said during her daily briefing.
She claimed that since Trump terminated Comey, the White House has learned new information about his conduct that only provided further justification for that firing.
Sanders claimed those justifications included giving false testimony and leaking privileged information to journalists. When pressed, she declined to provide further details: Im not an attorney.

(10,048 posts)SHS just opened herself and the WH to a mess of questions that could have easily been avoided. She now personally claimed to have evidence against Comey.....where did she get that evidence? (if she did not just pull it out of her ass or some alt-right bullshit site) where is her proof? (Sounds a bit like Trump and his Obama wiretapping claims)
If no evidence exists, she should lawyer up.

(23,337 posts)Why dispute what an ex-coworker is saying. Makes them look weak and stupid. In other news, isn't it ironic that SHS is critical of Bannon's "giving false testimony"? Project much, Sarah?

(27,817 posts)... is just confused.
It wasn't Comey who leaked privileged information to journalists - it was Trump who handed over classified information to the Russians.
Details, details.

Then i saw on CBS news this morning Gayle King all giddy about the Charlie Rose interview. Is she a complete moron? Does she know he is the biggest racist to sit in our white house? Won't watch CBS anymore.

(65,168 posts)And, since he's not an insider(officially) and got fired (no matter what they claim) and he's now a member of the news media (so to speak), why would he even be interviewed?
CBS going for expanding their viewership into the radical right who already doesn't believe they tell the truth?
Stupid decision

(26,060 posts)of giving false testimony, why hasn't be been charged with a crime? That's the FIRST question that should be asked today. Comey should sue her pathetic ass for defamation.
