Senate Dem: Graham-Cassidy is an 'intellectual and moral garbage truck fire'

Source: The Hill

BY REBECCA SAVRANSKY - 09/18/17 02:32 PM EDT

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) on Monday blasted the latest Senate Republican effort to repeal and replace ObamaCare, saying it would hurt millions of people.

"A short primer on all the ways the #GrahamCassidyBill is an intellectual and moral garbage truck fire," Murphy tweeted Monday.

The new legislation from Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Bill Cassidy (R-La.) would repeal central parts of ObamaCare, including the individual mandate, subsidies to insurers and funding for Medicaid's expansion, replacing them with block grants for states.

In subsequent tweets Monday, Murphy said the new bill would eliminate protections for people who "are or ever have been sick."

McCain says the Democrats shoved the ACA down our throats with no support from the opposition party.

That was 60 Democrats.

How is 50 Republicans and a VP equal to 60 Democrats?

If his own words matter, whatever happens should have more than 60 yes votes!

over 100 amendments requested by Republicans.

It's true that when the bill was voted on that no Republicans voted for it. But they were included every step of the way during the process and chose to vote against it.
