Your job is to lie! Conservative View host offers baffling defense of Sean Spicer

In the wake of Spicer’s appearance — in which he made a joking reference to the infamous press conference in which he lied about the crowd size at President Donald Trump’s inauguration — many critics have questioned the wisdom of publicly celebrating a man for making demonstrably false statements to the American public..............................

“I think Hollywood and the media need to lighten up,” she said. “This guy had a sense of humor. His job as press secretary is… Your job is to lie. That’s your job. If the president says something, you have to defend them.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin objected and said that a White House press secretary should try to tell the truth in answering questions. She also said that no one forced Spicer to take a job working for Trump, whose history of making false statements was well documented by fact-checking websites throughout the 2016 presidential campaign.
