Pence: We Can Address Any Funding Issues With Obamacare Repeal Later

Vice President Mike Pence on Thursday morning joined Fox and Friends to help sell the Senates last-ditch attempt to repeal Obamacare, where he argued that almost anything would be better than the Affordable Care Act and that any funding issues with the current proposal could be addressed later.
Fox and Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade asked Pence to respond to Republicans like New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie who oppose the deal since it will decrease federal funds to their states.
Pence acknowledged that the bill will decrease funding over time, but argued that the way the bill distributes money is preferable. He also argued that Republicans should push ahead despite concern about funding, and that any issues like that would be addressed later.
Its absolutely true to say the Graham-Cassidy bill over time levels out on a per-person basis the way we distribute money on healthcare, which I think resonates with most Americans, that we will ultimately get to place where the resources available to states are based on a per-individual basis. And well get to that, he said.

(15,543 posts)...and later we can figure out how to screw the American public again by making them pay pay pay and pay again for our lazy, impatient, malconceived, ethics-free, mean-spirited republican, inc. attack on the American health care system."
so they can address the most expensive part of the bill at a later date?

(5,995 posts)It's like trading a home that needs some repairs for a cardboard box under the freeway because it will reduce your monthly expenses. That's empirically true but doesn't provide basic human needs.

(11,519 posts)Damn what a pile of shit. Those bastards have a horrible plan and they're saying "just trust us, it'll all work out in the end (hopefully)". They care about two things, erasing President Obama's accomplishments and giving tax cuts to their corporate masters (at least those that pay tax anymore).

(11,843 posts)They routinely refuse to pass common sense solutions because they don't fix 100% of a problem.
"Later" does not cut it. If republicans can't meet their own standards of solving absolutely every aspect of a problem, their solution is no good.
