NFL owners, CEOs respond to Trump comments (NFL.com)

Source: NFL

President Donald Trump, while speaking at a political rally Friday, said NFL fans should boycott games and team owners should fire players who fail to stand for the national anthem prior to games.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and NFL Players Association Executive Director DeMaurice Smith both released statements early Saturday responding to the president's comments. The players are expected to respond in displays of unity on Sunday, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reports.

On Saturday and Sunday, NFL owners and CEOs responded as well, releasing statements disagreeing with President Trump's remarks.

New England Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft:

"I am deeply disappointed by the tone of the comments made by the President on Friday. (Edit: read more at link)

New York Giants Owners John Mara and Steve Tisch:

"Comments like we heard last night from the president are inappropriate, offensive and divisive. We are proud of our players, the vast majority of whom use their NFL platform to make a positive difference in our society."

Jacksonville Jaguars Owner Shad Khan:

"It was a privilege to stand on the sidelines with the Jacksonville Jaguars today for the playing of the U.S. national anthem at Wembley Stadium. I met with our team captains prior to the game to express my support for them, all NFL players and the league following the divisive and contentious remarks made by President Trump, and was honored to be arm in arm with them, their teammates and out coaches during our anthem. San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York:

Dotard Trump's words and actions.

When I've gone to peace marches, etc., I always see protesters doing their best to look like tie-dyed hippies from the '60's when what we really need are people in SUITS out there holding anti-war and anti-Trump signs.

We should view these remarks from NFL owners and CEO's on their own and as they are: monumental.

values.

Have you ever bought a gasoline powered vehicle?

Rode on a fossil-fuel powered bus or jet?

Ever bought food in plastic containers?

Ever not recycled a recyclable item because it was not convenient tat the time?

Wouldn't be fantastic to hear the owners and CEO's of auto manufacturers and and oil companies come out and say "we don't agree with the POTUS on his plans for more drilling and mining" ? Would you then call those CEO's hypocrites while you're riding along in one of their metal, fossil-fuel burning, polluting, future land-fill products after they've just 'called out' the POTUS ?

And besides, the issue is police brutality and equal justice - not Trump's lies, sexism, etc.. so your tweet is a little off subject.

I don't follow football, so I don't know if other teams besides Dallas didn't comment.

ETA: I didn't see anything from the Cardinals or the Redskins.

Today, it is more than about Colin K, although I've supported his reasons for taking a knee. Today is about defying a traitor and I feel like setting off fireworks

Our government is supposed to defend and protect the Constitution of The United States of America. d.t. the peepee failed. I think the dotard and his russian puppet masters underestimated the level of patriotism in the people. We are not ripe for conquest. There is no soft underbelly.

The dotard and putin go go to hell and take their henchmen with them.
