The GOP Health Care Bill Is Near Collapse With Rand Paul Still Opposed

A spokesman for Sen. Rand Paul says the Kentucky Republican remains opposed to the GOP bill repealing the Obama health care law. Paul's opposition would almost certainly doom the measure.

Just three Republican opponents would kill the bill in the narrowly divided Senate.

Arizona GOP Sen. John McCain opposes the measure and Maine Republican Susan Collins seems almost sure to do so. Alaska Republican Lisa Murkowski is undecided but voted against earlier versions this summer.

Spokesman Sergio Gor says Paul wants a "significant" reduction in the law's $1 trillion in spending, elimination of its coverage requirements and establishment of broad health plans consumers could join.

Gor calls meeting those demands "the only way" Paul votes yes.

Captain Jean-Luc Picard. was the captain with crew from various backgrounds..

They want health insurance to look like a lot of the auto and homeowners' insurance policies one sees these days: you pay the premiums, and should you actually need it they give you nothing in return.

It's interesting that while Russian hacking helped the Republicans win the 2017 Dictatorship of America, the Republicans must be furious they can't find a way (yet) to hack the votes in the House and Senate!

Maybe Mitch and Paul can find a way to make all votes done by private, electronic means through a server run by the Russians!

That's probably what he took when he was "practicing" as an optometrist in a competitive marketplace, before he got addicted to that sweet Uncle Sugar.
He ignores the fact that those groups still didn't pay for pre-existing conditions, had limited "family" coverage (like little to no mental health or specialists), and would drop subscribers as soon as something critical - like diabetes, serious arthritis, cancer, or a birth defect - occurred.
