President Donald Trump on Wednesday expressed his sharp displeasure with Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price over his use of expensive private jets, and said "we'll see" when asked by reporters if he would fire Price.
I was looking into it and I will look into it. And I will tell you personally, I'm not happy about it, Trump said in a brief exchange with reporters. I am not happy about it. I'm going to look at it. I am not happy about it, and I let him know it.
POLITICO revealed that Price has flown 26 times on private aircraft since last May at a cost of hundreds of thousands of dollars, a break with the practice of his predecessors who generally took commercial flights.

UPDATE
Trump: Not happy about HHS Secretary Tom Prices taxpayer-funded travel on private jets
By David Nakamura September 27 at 1:28 PM
President Trump said Wednesday that he is not happy about revelations Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price took numerous flights on government-funded private jets for work and personal trips.
Responding to questions from reporters, Trump said he is looking into the situation and personally, I'm not happy about it, and I let him know it.
Price has been under fire for using public funds to pay for private flights more than two dozen times, according to Politico, mixing in some personal travel with business trips.
The president appeared to suggest that he would considering firing Price, saying, I'm going to look at it after a reporter asked about Price's future, though it was not completely clear if Trump was answering that direct question.

(59,503 posts)Anyone in a cabinet would be asked to resign if the good of an administration demanded it. There are rare exceptions where the cabinet member is either in a position where they are absolutely essential or they have their own political power. No one in the Obama administration cabinet was the liability that Price is, but I would argue that although all members of the cabinet serve at the President's pleasure, he would have suffered politically if he had asked Clinton to resign.
For extremely different reasons, firing Sessions would ignite a firestorm because of the various investigations. I doubt - after all the healthcare failures that Price has any independent support and his acts justify firing him.
