A 'pressure cooker': Trump's frustration and fury rupture alliances, threaten agenda
Source: WaPo
Frustrated by his Cabinet and angry that he has not received enough credit for his handling of three successive hurricanes, President Trump is now lashing out, rupturing alliances and imperiling his legislative agenda, numerous White House officials and outside advisers said Monday.

One Trump confidant likened the president to a whistling teapot, saying that when he does not blow off steam he can turn into a pressure cooker and explode. I think we are in pressure cooker territory, said this person, who requested anonymity to speak candidly.
This portrait of the president increasingly isolated in the capital city is based on interviews with 18 White House officials, outside advisers and other Trump associates.

Trump also made it known to several people that he wished to have a rally in North Carolina over the weekend and not just hold a fundraiser but he ultimately only flew down for the fundraiser, spending just two hours on the ground in Greensboro. Trump complained that he wished he had gotten back out in front of the rowdy crowds he loves, these people said.

(45,447 posts)until he breaks. Sooner is better. The damage would be better contained. It is so great thinking of him just sitting there in the white house seething with rage. He knows he's in over his head and can't deal with it. Pressure!
If you can't take the heat, resign you loser!

When will someone capture one of his actual eruptions on video so we can see who this guy really is?

(47,111 posts)and Trump is doing what he can to speed it up, said Patrick Caddell, a veteran pollster who has worked with Stephen K. Bannon, Trumps former chief strategist who now runs Breitbart News, a conservative website.
I also like the quote by Melania responding to Ivana, saying Ivana's comments were attention seeking and self-serving noise. Melanie describes her husband here to a tee.

(14,047 posts)And the job is making him more deranged. Every day measurably worse than the last. A few more months (weeks?) and I don't think that he will be able to function in a way most people, even his allies, would recognize as even remotely sane.
But then, his real base is probably not much better. Whan was the last time you had something that resembled a rational discussion about anything political with a Trump supporter?

(1,660 posts)Down this road lies the mental breakdown and psychological rupture that will probably mark the turning point of this presidency. With Trump inarguably out of touch with reality, and support among Congress, Cabinet and senior WH staff dropping, Congress will be forced to pull a 25th. A movement for it could form virtually overnight, if the rupture appears in public - which is very likely.
I see this outcome as inevitable. If he's unraveling as fast as WaPo appears to think, the break will probably happen before Mueller and Schneiderman can get any more than a few initial indictments out. Those early indictments, especially if they include Manafort and/or Flynn, would probably unbuckle Trump completely.
At this point I'm betting that Trump's sanity and his presidency won't last beyond the third indictment.
