Hillary Clinton: Trump Is the Most Dangerous U.S. President in History
Source: The Daily Beast
Hillary Clinton has warned that the whole world should be concerned with President Donald Trump in charge. In a clip from an interview with the Australia Broadcasting Corp.s Four Corners set to air next Monday, the former U.S. secretary of state responded to a question from host Sarah Ferguson on whether Trump is the most dangerous president ever in the U.S. by saying, I think he is. He is impulsive, he lacks self-control, he is totally consumed by how he is viewed and what people think of him, he is vindictive, she said. Clinton had issued a similar warning before Trumps election win last year, describing him as the most dangerous man ever to run for president.

(24,122 posts)So many here sounded the alarm long ago, warning that this was the most consequential election in our lifetime and needed to be treated as such.
The next election could be even more consequential, especially now that we're on the brink of WWIII and the balance of the Supreme Court is at risk for an entire generation. We can't afford another four years under the dictatorship of this Nazi madman!!
In 2020, it's crucial that we choose our next candidate carefully, one who will show up every day to vigorously sound the same alarm, while taking our message under a progressive platform into every state, county, city, and town and fight for every single vote.
Indeed, it could be a matter of life and death!!

(10,500 posts)You are saying that the Sanders supporters were warning of the need to treat the election seriously while Clinton people did not. That is historically inaccurate.
You are saying that HRC, unlike Bernie had he been the nominee of the Democratic Party, did not fight for every single vote. That is also fictitious.
We chose our last candidate carefully. People carefully decided that they did not want to nominate a candidate who identified as a Democratic Socialist. And minority voters carefully decided to vote for HRC in overwhelming numbers after hearing what both candidates had to say.
The last election is when we had the chance to replace Scalia. And I expect Kennedy to retire before 2020.
At the end of the day, HRC ran a good enough race to have the election won by a wide and decisive margin with 11 days to go. Comey turned the entire election on its head. The evidence of that is overwhelming.

(24,122 posts)Your putting words in my mouth only suggests your own doubts, not mine. Hillary did a FINE job, absolutely, and should have won, yes ... does that mean she could not have done more?!?! Even Hillary HERSELF admitted to this... are you calling her a liar? (Notice, I'm asking... NOT putting words in YOUR mouth.)

(10,500 posts)I should not have reacted so sharply.
I don't have doubts regarding my position, I have just heard a lot of HRC bashing and am therefore easily set off.
Every candidate in every election could have done more. I don't see a major distinction between HRC and other candidates in that regards. I see an enormous distinction between James Comey and other FBI directors.

(11,586 posts)And she warned us about Trump.
We have a Russia problem, though (that is the alarm that needs to be heeded)--they installed Trump as POTUS, and they are still poised to interfere again--in fact they are currently busy. ("Russia is our friend" was latest chant of nazis in Charlottesville).
We need to fight this with our eyes wide open, and it will take every single democrat running to have full support. Then, after we change the balance of power we can begin to pick up the pieces and put them back together.
Our country has lost so much ground in the several months of the absolute Hell we find ourselves in that "a progressive platform" will need a patched up nation foundation to proceed. We have to undo as much damage as we can, first.
We must stand up together.
It already is a matter of life and death.

(33,982 posts)The whole world was pretty concerned then, too. Iraq. Bush Doctrine. First strike policy. Extraordinary Rendition. You name it.
Trump has the capacity and temperament to become the most dangerous and he must be prevented from it. But let's keep a little perspective here. It's likely that even today, not all the bodies from the Iraq war have been buried.

(16,646 posts)Hard to beat the Bush/Cheney crowd. Jackson was pretty bad, but had no nukes. Adams could have brought the whole thing down before it even really got started. But Trump surely has potential.
