Peter Gleason, longtime critic of Cy Vance, joins Manhattan DA race

Manhattan DA Cy Vance Jr. has another write-in challenger in next month's election — a longtime critic who has handled several headline-making cases against the embattled prosecutor, the Daily News has learned.

Peter Gleason — who pulled 35,000 votes against Vance in the last race for DA — is again throwing his hat into the ring, inspired by decisions now under the microscope including Vance’s call in 2015 to not charge movie producer Harvey Weinstein for allegedly grabbing a model's breast and reaching up her skirt.

"Equal protection and due process are the cornerstone of our criminal justice system," Gleason said.
