Rep. Pat Tiberi (R-OH), a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, announced his resignation from Congress on Thursday.
Today, it is with a humble and thankful heart that I announce I will not be seeking reelection, Tiberi said in a statement. While I have not yet determined a final resignation date, I will be leaving Congress by January 31, 2018.
I have been presented with an opportunity to lead the Ohio Business Roundtable that will allow me to continue to work on public policy issues impacting Ohioans while also spending more time with my family, he added.
The New York Times first reported Wednesday that Tiberi was expected to resign. The Times noted that Tiberis resignation was yet another sign of increasing frustration among Republicans in the congressional majority.

We should try anyway since it's an open seat.

(3,384 posts)ignoring and not following the DU posting rules that are very obvious and 'loud' at LBN posting page, he isn't acting as a responsible DU member when his error is brought to light.
If all LBN posters were equally as careless, DU would be a jumbled mess of repeated, time and space wasted news pieces.
That is why, why else?

(323 posts)The Ohio Democratic Party sucks. If they were any good, we would still have Ted Strickland in some kind of role, and Toledo and Cleveland wouldn't be represented by one person. Good candidates are rare and when found, they don't know how to promote them in their districts. This state will be under GOP control for ages.
