Trump personally interviewed US attorney candidates in New York: report
Source: The Hill
President Trump has reportedly conducted interviews for at least two of the potential candidates for U.S. attorney positions in New York, according to a new report by Politico.
Sources told Politico that Trump has interviewed two corporate lawyers to be potential nominees: Geoffrey Berman for the U.S. attorney post in the Southern District of New York, and Ed McNally for the Eastern District of New York.
The interviews by Trump, an unusual move for a president, have raised eyebrows, leaving critics worried of potential conflicts of interest. U.S. attorneys are supposed to operate independently from the president
According to Politico, the dates the interviews took place are unknown.

(11,108 posts)If the candidate admits being personally interviewed by Trump, he should be pressured into promising to recuse in any case involving Trump.

(14,494 posts)ZERO knowledge related to the job they're interviewed for. Like those in his cabinet, they must be hard-core against the department they would be working for.
Part of Trump's Bureau of Destruction!

(51,626 posts)This worries me for two reasons. First, the fucking moron is going to replace as many Dem judges as soon as he possibly can. Second, will this effect any crimes in the Mueller investigation that may slide through the GOP Congress but get prosecuted in NY (Russia banking and 45's finances, etc.)?

(10,916 posts)Should he prosecute, it will most likely be with people on his staff in the DC jurisdiction.
If Trump is prosecuted in NY, it would most likely be by the state of New York, not the Feds.

And Berman? He's at Greenberg Traurig, the firm that employs Rudi Giuliani.

(24,720 posts)Another reason on why you should be IMPEACHED.......................
And if the Senate confirms your interviewed "judges", one has to ask if they took loyalty tests..............
Because as soon as the democrats take back the senate-----------------they "all" of your judges should be removed, starting with the head cheese with the current black robe on by the name of Gorsuch...................
