Nineteen days after her husbands death and two days after his wrenching burial, the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson said she has nothing to say to President Trump, whose condolence call pulled the grieving widow into the center of a national controversy.
Very upset and hurt; it made me cry even worse, Myeshia Johnson said Monday on Good Morning America, making her first public comments since she received the call from Trump last week on the same day her husbands remains were flown back to the United States.
The president, Johnson said, told her that her husband knew what he signed up for, but it hurts anyways. And it made me cry. I was very angry at the tone of his voice, and how he said it.
She added: I didnt say anything. I just listened.

(6,083 posts)Sadly, if someone (Trump) is execrably bad at his job, he's most likely execrably bad at any part of it, no matter how important it is to avoid making a mess of things.

(21,646 posts)which is bizarre in another way. But he didn't care to do a job right for the Johnson family a job he could have done fabulously.
Believe me!

(160,598 posts)If only there could be some way to keep our pResidential sociopath away from those people his decisions have devastated.
Hope people who have known Myeshia Johnson can help her during her shock, grief, despair, and guide her to a more peaceful state from which she can start repairing her battered spirit as she prepares for the birth of their child.

(9,291 posts)We just don't have a human in our top spot right now. We have no excuse for him, but I hope he doesn't contact anyone else by phone,
I'm thinking of sending her family, maybe a toysrus gift card for the holidays. I'll mail it to her congresswoman, because it just seems the safer way. She might not need it, but maybe it will asssit her to get her holiday shopping done and relax to have that new baby in January.

(22,651 posts)manage to handle the 65? military deaths America had these past 9 LONG MONTHS.
Republicans' President totally IGNORES couple hundred wounded, totally ignores our current Veterans.
T(R)UMP can't even make a call the day of a death, waits weeks if he even calls AT ALL. a call, won't even face to face with the Family!!

(1,002 posts)In one of the pictures of her at her husband's funeral. The sight of her with those dog tags made me want to sit down and bawl. My Dad was career military - fought in 3 wars, including two tours of duty in Vietnam. I used to wear my Dad's old WWII dog tags under my shirt for luck - for BOTH of us until he would get safely back home. Only then would I take those tags off - until next time. Military families go through their own version of hell when their service member is sent away to fight yet another war.
That poor, poor woman and her children. Trump should be shot. I loathe Cheeto a little more each day.
