Corker: I won't support Trump for election again
Source: The Hill
BY JORDAIN CARNEY - 10/24/17 10:04 AM EDT
Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) said on Tuesday that he wouldn't support President Trump in another election, saying Trump is "unable to rise to the occasion."
"Let's just put in this way, I would not do that again. ...I think [Trump]'s proven himself unable to rise to the occasion," Corker told CNN, asked if he regretted supporting him in the 2016 presidential race.
Corker's comments are the latest in a growing spat between the GOP senator and Trump that comes hours before the president is scheduled to visit Capitol Hill to meet with the Senate GOP caucus.
Trump lashed out on Corker via Twitter earlier Tuesday morning saying that he "helped President O give us the bad Iran Deal & couldn't get elected dog catcher in Tennessee, is now fighting Tax Cuts."

Corker Unleashes: Trump Be Remembered for Debasement of Our Nation
by Ken Meyer | 10:05 am, October 24th, 2017
Senator Bob Corker expanded on his previous comments today by tearing into President Trump over his dishonesty and lack of desire for political competence.
Earlier this morning, Corker and Trump reignited their recent feud by taking swipes at each other on TV and across Twitter. The outgoing chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations committee spoke to CNNs Manu Raju, and he lamented that Trump debases the country with his regular falsehoods.
I think world leaders are very aware that much of what he says is untrue. Certainly people here are because these things are provably untrue, Corker said. I dont know why he lowers himself to such a low, low standard, and debases our country in a way that he does. Corker wouldnt say if Trump was a liar, though he remarked that the president has great difficulty with the truth on many issues. He also seemed to regret backing Trump in the 2016 election, saying he wouldnt do that again since the president is unable to rise to the occasion of his station.
When asked if he thought Trump was a role model to children in the United States, Corker simply replied: No, absolutely not. The senator also reaffirmed his previous thoughts about how the country will be better off if Trump stands aside and lets officials like Rex Tillerson and James Mattis work without interference.

(10,098 posts)How many stories have been posted about former so and so criticizing the current resident of the White House. Rare current members of that god awful party. It's all about tax cuts, gutting regulation and fomenting racism, among a litany of other deplorable actions.

(3,847 posts)that's not enough. Trump is not only a debased moron that has the class of a cockroach without the charm he is a traitor and the senate needs to get thier heads out of thier asses. That includes blocking all his nominees and voting against everything that comes before you from Yertle.
You do that, you may regain a modicum of respect.

(32,645 posts)Certainly more than that lame-ass McConnell.
It's too bad the nominees are all in office now, and there's no way to take back those votes. But once Tillerson is finally gone (quit or fired) there will be a new Secretary of State to be nominated. That's when we'll see how far Corker will go, maybe McCain too.

(9,291 posts)think, that all the republicans who care more about their grandchildren then money would get on the next stop. If not grandchildren, then take a long walk in a park or on a nature trail.
Give a crap about a living creature, because all the money won't replace them if they go poof.
