China warns US on Asia military strategy
China's state media have warned the US against "flexing its muscles" after Washington unveiled a defence review switching focus to the Asia-Pacific.
In an editorial, official news agency Xinhua said President Barack Obama's move to increase US presence in the region could come as a welcome boost to stability and prosperity.
But it said any US militarism could create ill will and "endanger peace".

(49 posts)How stupid is it to be so in debt to China and view them as a military threat. If China wants to hurt this country, all they have to do is stop buying our Treasury bonds. If they start selling the US bonds that they already have, we are in a world of hurt. How about we start to manufacture what we need here and stop sending our money to China, that would be a good start to making the US stronger!

(31,962 posts)They knew this back in late 2007. They knew it in early 2008. This isn't something President Obama dreamed up. This is a long projected military strategy. Anyone who was a vendor to the Pentagon - specifically the Navy (as the first priority at that time) knows - we were receiving RFP's back then in preparation for this.
Their faux surprise is just that. If they were really concerned - they would have blown our cover in the 2008 election. When there was no end in sight to Iraq and Aghanistan.
