Ivanka Trump Has an Army of White House Employees Scrambling to Address Her Every Need
Source: Newsweek
Ever wonder how many government employees, employee hours and bits of correspondence it takes to get an hour and a half of Ivanka Trumps time at a public event?
A new cache of hundreds of emails obtained from the Department of Education (DOE) through the Freedom of Information Act shows that for one brief event at the Air & Space Museum in March, at least 21 employees and at least 150 emails were required to arrange President Donald Trumps daughters presence. The emails were obtained by the nonprofit American Oversight and shared exclusively with Newsweek.
The staff hours, angst and emailing that goes into putting a political principal like White House Senior Adviser Ivanka Trump on stage at any event in Washington is always an exercise in theatrical production and people-management skills, what with the squads of coat-brushing, purse-holding, door-opening flunkies fighting for facetime. But in this case, it required the mobilization of at least 21 government employees (some of the emails were fully redacted) to choreograph less than an hour in the schedule of a woman who was not yet an official employee (who happened to be the presidents daughter). And high-ranking DOE staff were happy to oblige.
The emails offer a window into the genesis of a typical federal agency publicity event, this one ostensibly arranged to inform the public about the administrations interest in STEM for girls. It was attended by mostly African American, local schoolchildren and featured a screening of the hit movie Shadow Figures plus short remarks from Betsy DeVos, Ivanka Trump and a female NASA astronaut, Kathryn (Kay) Hire.

(9,426 posts)however, she has an army of assistants who are? Watching her trying to speak with those large teeth plus the Botox injections is painful to me. Like daddy, she has to try to think before making any statements. He might think she is really something, but she is not that attractive. I see more attractive women on a daily basis around town, at Walmart and the grocery store. Her visit to Asia with daddy has been cancelled. I wonder if Jared is next in line for a visit from the Mueller team? Either that or she was unable to arrange meetings to market her "brand" (stolen ideas and styles from others) to any country on the itinerary.

(5,801 posts)as a young teen, you can see that she has had extensive plastic surgery. Not bashing, just pointing out that without prolly ~100K in procedures, she would look completely average.
Also, can you only imagine the puke reaction if Chelsea had assumed such a position under President Clinton, and then tied up so many gov't employees to make her look good? Heads would explode. Yet we are supposed to just sit back and think it's OK for iwanna? No chance. Just another outrage by this maladmin.

(7,218 posts)And they both have paid staff. In the case of Laura Bush and Michelle Obama, 24-staffers on the payroll.
Ivanka has 21 - but she's not the First Lady*. She's not anything. Are those staffers paid by her - or the taxpayer?
* Given Melania keeps a VERY low profile, I wonder how many paid staffers she has?
PS: Oh, to again get that 2009 lying email bitching about Michelle Obama's staff:
"There has never been anyone in the White House at any time that has created such an army of staffers whose sole duties are the facilitation of the First Ladys social life. One wonders why she needs so much help, at taxpayer expense, when even Hillary, only had three; Jackie Kennedy one; Laura Bush one; and prior to Mamie Eisenhower social help came from the Presidents own pocket."
