Texas governor: I don't think shooting was just a random act of violence

Source: The Hill

BY MALLORY SHELBOURNE - 11/06/17 08:25 AM EST

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) said Monday morning that he does not believe the deadly church shooting in Sutherland Springs was “a random act of violence.”

Speaking to ABC’s “Good Morning America,” Abbott said he thinks a “connection” between the suspect and the church where the attack occurred will soon emerge.

“What I want to convey to you is I don’t think this was just a random act of violence,” Abbott told George Stephanopoulos. “It was two things, one is a very deranged individual who I understand long before he was dishonorably discharged from the United States military was demonstrating some mental illness challenges.”

Abbott declined to provide any additional information on a potential motive, but said law enforcement is working to find answers.

He was in some way convicted of domestic abuse (by military court-martial, I think but maybe another way too).

Somehow Kelley bought a rifle at Academy Sports & Outdoors in April of 2016.

Sue them out of business, please. Then in criminal law prevent the owners and operators from ever selling any weapons.

health and now the Governor is hinting at a motive by targeting that church. Is he saying our president is talking out of his ass?

and when ABC ask's the same BS questions, of trying to figure out the "WHY", it doesn't not take much to figure out the "WHY"

here lets remind everyone of your question and answers to the requirement of living in a state that really believed that Jade Helm was true

And WHY didn't "Good Morning America" ( It is not a good morning) say and show the gunviolencearchive.org site information-----------WHY NOT and then ask this jerk some real questions

If you want to trash the few loonies who bought into that idiocy, have at it. But back the hell off of insulting me and the overwhelming majority of Texans who found the whole matter ludicrous and embarrassing. Anybody who can't criticize a douchebag like Abbott without insulting his entire state needs some work on their delivery.

People who would never dream of insulting entire races or religions have no problem whatsoever with shit-canning an entire state, as if every single resident of Texas is a Rick Perry clone. It's disheartening, but we Texas DU'ers aren't putting up with it any more.

It's being reported that his ex in-laws are parishioners there. I think it's very likely that this was a family dispute/domestic violence situation.

**********************************************************************

"The Texas church shooter had family connections to the church where he killed at least 26 on Sunday in what is now the worst mass shooting in the state’s history.

Wilson County Sheriff Joe Tackett told the Today show Monday morning that Devin Patrick Kelley’s ex in-laws attended the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, where he unleashed a firestorm of bullets during Sunday morning service.

It was previously reported that Kelley’s wife Danielle was a former teacher at the school, and that her mother Michelle was a parishioner.

But the sheriff’s revelation that it was his ex in-laws who attended the church indicates that he and Danielle may have had a falling out.

Sheriff Tackett said the family was not at the church at the time of the shooting, but spoke to investigators yesterday after the massacre."

I do, however, agree with Abbott on one thing...This was not a random act of violence. It was an planned act of terrorism.

It is just that no one in this country (officials, media, etc.) has the balls to call it what it is and that is a terrorist act.

Actually he was court-martialed and sentenced to a year in military prison for assaulting his wife and child.
I wouldn't phrase that as "some mental illness challenges.” It's more like a predictor for this kind of evil.

or a political agenda. Both of those issues are only brought up for white males with guns.

Even DUers automatically assume that a muslim or dark skinned person has a political agenda. What is their political agenda?

Just like conservatives understand that a muslim or a dark skinned person is always of the most stable mental health of all the world's people.
