President Trump Revealed He 'Never Knew We Had So Many Countries'

Source: International Business Times

BY HANNAH PRESTON ON 11/06/17 AT 3:57 PM

Beginning his Asian tour Saturday after touching ground in Japan, President Donald Trump detailed his high regard for the relationship between him and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe - and his apparent lack of knowledge about the number of countries in the world.

On his final night in Japan, before moving on to South Korea, Trump spoke about his relationship with the prime minister at a dinner in Agasaka Palace following their Sunday game of golf – a tradition initiated by Abe's grandfather and former Prime Minister Nobusuke Kishi during President Dwight Eisenhower's term. Following his comments about Abe, the president revealed that he never knew how many countries there were.

"So my relationship with Shinzo got off to quite a rocky start because I never ran for office, and here I am," Trump said at the dinner. "But I never ran, so I wasn’t very experienced. And after I had won, everybody was calling me from all over the world. I never knew we had so many countries."

Trump continued to express his gratitude for their friendship and called Abe a "very aggressive, strong, tough prime minister."

When my now 27 yr old son was only 2 1/2, he want a globe. We got him one. He was fascinated by it and could find little tiny Bhutan, among many other countries. One of my mother's favorite memories of him at that age is asking him to find Azerbaijan. He pointed it out, and confidently told her, "Here it is, right next to Georgia."

I'm guessing Dotard has never heard of Bhutan.

...isn't the order of names in Japan is that the family name (the surname) is first, then the person's given name?
In the United States/Europe we would flip that and say "Abe Shinzo" instead of Shinzo Abe, as as we would for, example, "Paul Smith".

So what the orange menace said was the equivalent to (using as my example, Paul Smith): "...my relationship with Smith got off to quite a rocky start..."

And didn't he also do that with the Japanese PM at the horror called Mar-a-Lago last Feb....?

Don't tell me trump doesn't know how many "countries we have." Additionally, all these offshore, multiple layered-links to other governments and figures in them (i.e. Cyprus, Russia, etc.) is prima facie evidence of sophisticated understanding necessary to navigate geopolitical relationships.

Reading the naive comments on DU about this bloodsucking cockroach makes my head explode.

Nice of Abe to have told him. Probably right after some kind peon helped Tr*mp tie his fucking golf shoe laces, presumably after he figured out: “socks first, shoes second”... or something.

Whadda guy!!! Attaboy asshole!

Quick, fire up the presses and declare Tr*mp a “savvy and experienced diplomat”.
