RNC cuts off Moore

Source: Politico

The national party pulls out of a fundraising pact with the Alabama candidate, further isolating him.

The Republican National Committee is withdrawing its support for besieged Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore, leaving him increasingly isolated as he confronts charges of sexual misconduct with teenagers.

The RNC is pulling out of a joint fundraising agreement it had with Moore, according to a senior party official briefed on the decision. It is also canceling a field program it had set up ahead of the state’s Dec. 12 special election. The committee had about a dozen paid canvassers in Alabama working for Moore. It will no longer transfer any money to the race.

RNC Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel is expected to brief committee members on the decision on a Tuesday conference call.

Even before allegations surfaced against Moore, the committee believed he was in trouble. Internal RNC polling conducted around a week ago showed him leading his Democratic opponent by just two percentage points. The committee has been evaluating its options about what to do about Moore over the last few days.

IMHO, if this hadn't become public, the RNC wouldn't have cut Moore off.

Moore in a landslide then? You know the slack-jawed, mouth-breathing, booger-eating morans of the bible belt will take that as a personal affront. It's just another attack by them damned yankees, and they'll vote in numbers never before seen for their personal savior, in christ, Roy Moore.

I can see this happening, I really can. I sincerely hope not, and I hope the good people in Alabama prove me wrong. Maybe we can arrange a day long TV marathon of 'Duck Dynasty' in order to keep them from going to the ballot box.

To be clear, I'm not besmirching the character and intelligence of all Alabamians, just the bible thumpers on the right.

If he had been cut off at a younger age the urge wouldn't have been there in the first place ( in other countries and time periods it would have been "snip, snip/chop, chop&quot .

If they can talk sessions into resigning as AG and running for his old seat as a write in then trumpy can appoint a new AG and he won't be recused from the russian investigation. You can bet one of the main criteria for anyone to become AG will be that he is willing to fire Mueller
