Trump teases trade announcement while slamming NY Times

Source: The Hill

BY JORDAN FABIAN - 11/15/17 11:59 AM EST

President Trump on Wednesday appeared to tease a new announcement on trade as he assailed The New York Times for its coverage of his marathon trip to Asia.

The comments come days after Trump said he would make a “major” trade announcement after returning to the White House from Asia.

“A lot of things are happening on trade,” Trump said during a meeting with the leaders of Australia and Japan. “And I'll be announcing pretty much what happened here, and also with other meetings, including China and South Korea and lots of other places.”

The president said he would “probably” speak on Wednesday, though he has no public events on his schedule.

The harm being done to trade right now cant be felt yet, soon it will.

BTW if you like nutrition info on foods, or you like the FDA protecting food sources, get used to food poisoning and not knowing what is in your food.

5. Trump walked away with nothing but a cheap shirt and some cheesy vacay photos.

The hosts of his pricey photo op got the TPP with major trade opportunities, and delighted in making Trump look like an idiot. Trump thinks he's got great relationships with those men based on nothing more than a handshake and a nice meal, but they played him for a fool. Thanks to Trump's ineptitude, the US (and it's consumers) are the big losers here.

6. Trade announcements

These, and just about any other diplomatic agreements, at whatever level, require extensive talks and negotiations. Since the State Department has been essentially eradicated, I can't imagine how even low level discussions are possible.

Next, these things are usually done before a presidential visit, so that they can be announced at the visit. Hands shaken, smiles and back patting all around. That didn't happen.

My guess is that the buffoon-in-chief will announce plans to have talks about this or that. Nothing substantial or meaningful. And I would put money on the likelihood that anything substantial that may be announced will be in heavily favor of the trading partner(s), not the US. The b-i-c is not a negotiator. He's a bully and a fool, and the entire world knows it.

7. Just what did he promise to give away from this country to further his own enrichment? And to whom?

He is proud of isolating the US from any multinational trade agreement, so it must be something to help himself, family, or “friends”.

And yet somehow those 2 weeks never ever seem to arrive. If he had deals, he'd be blasting the news out non-stop, but he probably doesn't.
