Former Donald Trump campaign staffers Paul Manafort and Rick Gates may get to leave home confinement for Thanksgiving after all.

In a brief order Monday, U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson told the two men who are facing charges in special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe that they had until 3 p.m. Tuesday to file any motions “seeking release to attend specific events” over the upcoming holiday weekend.

Jackson last Thursday rejected Gates’ request for release from his home confinement terms for a wide range of different events beyond just the Thanksgiving weekend, including to drive his four children to school and extracurricular activities and to continue with his lobbying work in Washington and Richmond, Virginia.

While noting the “constant and competing transportation demands” that Gates’ family faced, Jackson told his attorneys they should instead focus on finishing negotiating a bail package with Mueller’s prosecutors.

They won't run... too many eyes on them, both media and investigative.

But imagine, just imagine how it would look to the ordinary eye if either did attempt (successfully or no) to leave the country. The investigation would be forced to the top of every news broadcast until complete, and listening to Fox and Hate Radio justify it would be delicious.
