Breitbart editor-in-chief: The word "rape" now means "any sex that the woman ends up regretting that she had"

ALEX MARLOW (HOST): Rape used to have a narrow definition. Rape used to have a definition where it was -- it was brutality, it was forced sexual attack and penetration. Now it's become, really, any sex that the woman ends up regretting that she had. And that leaves us without a lot of clarity, because when words lose their meaning, then they can be manipulated. And so now the left has made it so that women who are, maybe are -- I don't want to paint a scenario because the freaks at Media Matters are listening and they want to take me out of context, so I'm not going to give specific scenarios -- but you guys can do this in your own mind, where rape used to mean something. We used to all knew what it meant. And then now we don't know what it means. And then we don't know what's credible and what's not. And now everyone is going to come forward.

Thank you, Donald Trump, for legitimizing ridiculous far-right conservative fringe conspiracy "news" sources like Breitbart and InfoWars. Now we have to deal with this baloney for who knows how long. Victim blaming and finger wagging at those youngsters changing the meanings of words! Wah!!

Seriously, this is why there is a rape culture. Maybe this wouldn't be an issue if there was a clear understanding of sexual consent among men? Maybe we should teach boys not to rape and assault, then we wouldn't have to spend so much time teaching young women how to defend themselves? Because we train boys and young men in ALL THE WRONG WAYS that women want to be pursued, that they want to be overcome, that they're just playing hard to get.

Here's a great round-up of it here:
http://www.cracked.com/blog/how-men-are-trained-to-think-sexual-assault-no-big-deal/

And there is a dearth of understanding about what sexual consent actually entails:

Indeed, Donald Trump, Rush Limbaugh, and many RW media personalities have often repeated some variant of "winners take what they want and don't have time for consent. Only effeminate losers ask for consent"

from the cracked link "There's nothing less sexy than a dude asking if he can kiss you."

It would be good for liberal media personalities to promote some variant of "verbal consent is sexy".

They were saying this around university campuses 20 or 30 years ago, at least.

Guys like this want "rape" to only mean "man in the bushes jumps out at you and forces vaginal penetration".

They do not want it to mean any of the other things people do to coerce any kind of sex: threats, sly drink spiking, roofies, implied abandonment etc. etc. etc.

They're worried, in other words. Either they have past sexual encounters they wonder about, or they've never actually had sex.

I didn't read the whole thing. (I just ate.)

Did he ever say "legitimate rape"? 'Cause I could tell that's where he was going.

How do you put quotation marks in the header? Mine keep disappearing (see my comment, below)

then copy/paste into the title field. Then type them in.

For me, they often disappear when I copy/paste from some other website. In this case, I copy/pasted it right from the OP and then added the "".

It's the same deal with apostrophes and commas.

In my post below I just tried to type in the comment from Brietbart with a quotation mark:

“When words lose their meaning...”

and then when I post my comment the quotation marks disappear. I’ve tried <quote>...</quote> and other variations, they all just vanish when I post/update my comment.

there's an ask the admin entry where they said they are looking into fixes for this. For me, copy/paste into notepad works (Windows 10, Chrome browser)
