Even when I was young and had a hot body I would have never let anyone see me nude in a picture. Times should have changed. That said I used to wear tiny bikinis that left nothing to the imagination. That’s as close as I got to exposing my body.

And sometimes she may receive one without asking. It’s far less common but by no means rare for women to share their nude photos with their male dates. Nude photos are even pre-requisites for some gay men before even meeting for coffee, let alone anything else.

If it was as he said (adults in a consentual, sexually active relationship), there wasnt much there to make a story out of. Millions of partnered and married couples do it every year.

I never take a picture I wouldn't want my mother to see and I never write an email that I wouldn't want to see in the newspaper.

It's astounding how many civil service workers still send emails that are either inappropriate or contain sensitive information without considering that an access to information request from the media or an investigation by some regulatory body will haunt them later on.

I would like to understand what impels adults to send nude photos of themselves to people.

I do think it particularly strange that political officeholders would do so-seems like risky behavior for politicians or for many professional persons.

To me, nude photos sent to a willing recipient is no big deal. Millions of Americans have done it. And even if you personally wouldn't, why is it a big deal if someone else does it?

The human body is nothing to be ashamed of. Nude photos, shared with someone that wants to see them, should have no shame or stigma attached to it.

And lots of naked pictures were shared?

And people who were sharing them were shamed because of it...

but it's ok if it's a republican who has pictures exposed like that for us to use them as a way to shame him and others.

I've noticed you popping up in a few of the threads with themes on sexuality and you are playing an effective role as the "devil's advocate." Perhaps it is a generation gap that creates so much of a divergence in the responses to such topics on the DU.

We used to have yearly porn wars that were a lot of fun because it really did show just how conservative so many people here are in regards to sex and sexuality.

The hypocrisy is one conservative levels here with this because if it had been flipped from R to D there'd be a whole lot of defense of it, and rightly so. Someone either leaked or stole personal photos taken between consensual adults and it's like all the cool kids are now having a blast bullying and shaming someone they don't like even more.

Those were non consensual in nature. Barton’s actions, while high on the ick scale involved consenting adults at a time when Barton and his wife were separated awaiting the finalization of their divorce.
