Communications director for Roy Moore campaign resigns

Source: The Hill

John Rogers, communications director for Alabama GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore’s campaign, has resigned, Washingtonian reported on Wednesday.

Rogers confirmed his resignation by phone but declined to comment further, the magazine reported. The decision comes as Moore faces multiple allegations of sexual misconduct, including accusations that he made advances on teenagers when he was in his 30s.

President Trump on Tuesday appeared to back Moore and downplayed the allegations against him.

“He denies it. He totally denies it,” Trump said. “Roy Moore denies it — that’s all I can say.”

Numerous Republicans have called on Moore to step aside in the race.

4. Wishful thinking

People in Alabama are still going to vote in huge numbers for Moore, they don't care. I have come to the conclusion that patriotism is at a historic low in the republican party, their loyalty is no longer to the country, just the party. They are willing to put blinders on the eyes, plugs in there ears for anything negative about the republican party and republican politicians. It is a very sad situation.

I just hope that women will decide to either no cast a vote for Moore and finally understand that the GOP is not their friend. It drives me nuts when I see a black person supporting the GOP, don't they see the light?

The fact that they have made the Al Franken thing such an enormous deal shows their true character. They see videos of the woman who accused Franken rubbing her butt on the leg of the country music singer, he then grabs her butt, and in return she grabs his. Then there is the other video where she is kissing the soldier, etc., etc. and they are still able to make more noise about an alleged kiss that may have never happened than orange-boy and the Alabama pervert...and to top it off, the democrats allow them to do it.

I believe she needs to be questioned under oath, I have a feeling that the kiss part was all made-up, but then again, that may be wishful thinking on my part.

They've abandoned patriotism in favour of nationalism, and they don't see the difference.

Good on him. Maybe this will start a wave of integrity among republicans. That would be nice for a change.

It will not matter if Moore rapes a ten year old girl on live TV on the 7:00 evening news. He will still get a guaranteed 45% of the vote, and certainly could still win this election.
