Congressman Calls Trump An Idiot For Using Egypt Mosque Attack To Promote Border Wall

Source: Huffington Post

Rep. Filemon Vela (D-Texas) slammed the president over his response to Friday’s mass shooting that left more than 300 dead.

Rep. Filemon Vela (D-Texas) lashed out at President Donald Trump for using Friday’s deadly mass shooting at an Egyptian mosque to keep up his push for construction of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

“What an idiot,” Vela tweeted Sunday in response to a Washington Post piece analyzing Trump’s suggestion that a border wall would effectively stop Muslim extremists from entering the United States.

Vela, an outspoken Trump critic, questioned whether the president “foolishly” believed such a wall could have prevented the 9/11 attacks, as well as the wave of mass shootings plaguing the country, including the ones in Las Vegas last month and at a Texas church earlier this month.

What an idiot... Does @realDonaldTrump foolishly think a border wall would have prevented 9/11, Charleston, San Bernardino, Orlando, Las Vegas, and Sutherland Springs?

U.S. Rep. Filemon Vela (D34-Texas) is MY U.S. rep!! I think we need much more of this kind of rather insulting "in your face" opposition to Trump. Let Trump try to attack Vela. This area, South Texas, is one of the bluest of the blue areas in Texas.

"troubled by," don't call him out. This is especially true since he is so egregiously bombastic. He is a loud mouthed bully liar!

Call him out Dems! Many are.

are wary of instigating any war of words with Trump right now, and it may be a smart move. Trump has already taken enough rope to hang himself many times over, and they know that. They're much more aware of Trump's crimes that are we. By not engaging in a childish war of words, and resisting the urge to start flinging poo at the dumb ape, they can just stand by and watch Mueller eviscerate the dullard and his henchmen/henchwomen.

I know, they've tried this tack before, and they always seemed to get their asses handed to them. However, this time, it's as clear as Trump's orange "tan" that he isn't going to escape this unscathed. When Trump's volumes of charges against the United States are announced, then they can open up the floodgates and let their words cut him to ribbons. His 'tweeting' about the charges leveled against him will ring extremely poor, and his empty words will carry no weight whatsoever.

This may be the course they're steering, who knows? I think that getting into a twitter war with Donnie Dullard would be fruitless at this point, but what the hell do I know. I'm just a political dilettante trying to make sense of it all, just like everyone else.

Some days I am optimistic. Most days not.

THEY do not play by the rules and THEY control almost everything.

Will 'the courts,' the 'authorities' actually be able to DO anything? IF there are any honest courts left??
Do we really think if there ARE 'trials' and he and his buddies ARE found guilty, that he will just walk out of the White House?

If I may quote you to refer to myself....

But there will also be repercussions! Does anyone think Franken would have been targeted if not for his fierce questioning of Sessions and demands for the actual truth? Hell no! This is what happens to all effective lw politicians, hit jobs by the rw. We have to support our fighters, be true blue to the facts and don't be fooled by their ploys.
