Michael Flynn's lawyer meets with members of special counsel's team, raising specter of plea deal

Source: ABC News

By MATTHEW MOSK MIKE LEVINE and BRIAN ROSS Nov 27, 2017, 1:35 PM ET

The lawyer for President Donald Trump’s former national security adviser Michael Flynn met Monday morning with members of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team, the latest indication that both sides are discussing a possible plea deal, ABC News has learned.

President Trump’s legal team confirmed late last week that Flynn’s attorney Robert Kelner alerted them that he could no longer engage in privileged discussions about defense strategy in the case, a sign Flynn is preparing to negotiate with prosecutors over a deal that could include Flynn’s testimony against the President or senior White House officials.

That process would typically include a series of off-the-record discussions in which prosecutors lay out in detail for Flynn and his lawyers the fruits of their investigation into his activities. Prosecutors would also provide Flynn an opportunity to offer what’s called a “proffer,” detailing what information, if any, he has that could implicate others in wrongdoing. When reached Monday, Kelner declined to comment on the nature of his morning visit to Mueller’s offices in Washington, D.C.

Sources familiar with the discussions between Flynn's legal team and the president's attorneys told ABC News that while there was never a formal, signed joint defense agreement between Flynn's defense counsel and other targets of the Mueller probe, the lawyers had engaged in privileged discussions for months.

as to a pardon.

Getting THAT on tape, now THAT would be wonderful.

Flynn: "they want me to tell the truth about our deals in the Ukraine and with Vlad and friends, Mr. President"

Trump: "well Mike, you know we cant ever tell them the truth, right?"

Flynn: "sure, yes Don, so what do I say?"

Now, once this is on tape, we than have to rely on an indictment and conviction at which time he pardons HIMSELF. And since almost HALF of the actual voting public support this traitor, what happens next?

That's why I hope one of the indictments is for money laundering and from NY, serious and he can do nothing at all about it.

The beauty of this is about 40 or 50 million Americans want him to pardon himself for stealing from them and committing treason.

Now that means we are so fucked up here, so completely turned around, i dont know how we ever find our asses again.

His diehard 15% base will never abandon him, like they won't abandon Moore.

But when it is all said and done, it will be much less than 40 million.

If tRump pardons Flynn, then he can be compelled to tell the truth about everything because he no longer needs or has Fifth Amendment protection.

tRump has lost many many supporters, so it is not "almost half". More like a third, which is bad enough.

one of the panel members said Flynn will do anything to save his son. IIRC, Renato Mariotti cited the case against ILL gov George Ryan where the key witness against him flipped because the investigators were going to indict his girlfriend/fiancee. He caved to protect her.
