Clinton on Matt Lauer: 'Every day I believe more in karma'
Source: The Hill
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton commented Friday on longtime NBC host Matt Lauer's firing, remarking that she believes in the concept of karma a little more "every day," Philly Voice reports.

Every day I believe more in karma, Clinton said when asked about Lauer's firing, before lumping him in with several other men who shaped the narrative who have been fired over similar allegations of sexual misconduct.
The only way we will get sexism out of politics is to get more women in politics, she added.

Clinton criticized Lauer in "What Happened" for his handling of an NBC News "Commander-in-Chief Forum" just two months before Election Day. During the forum, Lauer frequently interrupted Clinton and pressed her on her email controversy. Critics said Lauer went much easier on now-President Trump during a separate interview.

(18,402 posts)Charlie Rose. Just a few months ago he did a full hour interview with Clinton, and both Mr. Frazzled and I were shocked. He would ask a question and as she began to speak he would quickly interrupt her, yakking on in a kind of frenzied way with his own views. It was rude, paternalistic, confrontational, and notably out of character with the way the vast majority of his interviews were typically conducted.
Karma, indeed.

(47,602 posts)but I remember the Lauer one and I was shocked at how rude and condescending he was. Now I am amazed at how Hillary has maintained her composure over the years.

(22,672 posts)But we've also lost a SCOTUS post, lost our ACA, going to have our taxes raised so the GOP can loot the U.S. Treasury and they're still setting policy. Makes a sane person wanna run some of these fuckers over.
We live in kochistan now. The orange turd is just the front man.

(10,500 posts)He asked "were your mistakes enough to cost you the election, even without Comey?" Like it is a perfectly reasonable argument and she never really had a huge lead.
More importantly, it implies that, at best, Comey tipped a close race. In reality, Comey turned the race completely upside down.

(3,011 posts)and hope she is enjoying seeing this go down. Hopefully, she will get to see the whole lot of them doing prison time. I don't think I can take the disappointment of pardons.
Today's decision to release Manafort and let him travel makes me worried, he's going to be the first to skip town and find a comfortable place to avoid extradition. I don't think he'd think twice about leaving behind 10 million in assets in exchange for his freedom.
Anyway, I hope she gets her justice. I already love how she gets standing ovations wherever she goes. <3

(10,109 posts)It was so blatant at the time how biased he was. Looking at it again it is even worse, he wouldn't let her get two words out before interrupting, while he let the liar go on and on uninterrupted.
I never realized just how rich the guy was, I wish he could lose some of that.

NBC to refuse Matt Lauer payout
NBC News will refuse to pay "Today" show host Matt Lauer, fired over sexual misconduct allegations, for the remainder of his contract, the network confirmed to The Hill on Friday.
Lauer "will not be paid past his last day of work," CNN first reported, following a separate report that lawyers representing Lauer were seeking another $30 million from the network.
Attorneys for the former host are pushing for NBC to pay out the remainder of his $20 million per year contract with the popular morning entertainment and news program, which was set to expire in mid 2019.
Two sources near him told CNN that it was doubtful that Lauer, who has expressed remorse over his actions, would push the network for a payout.
