Bush ethics chief: Trump will go down for violating the Constitution, not sexual misconduct reports

The top ethics lawyer in President George W. Bushs administration said President Trump is more likely to be removed from office for having violated the constitution than over allegations of sexual misconduct.
It's nuts to think Trump will be brought down by past sexual misconduct. Voters knew about that, Richard Painter tweeted Saturday.

Painter has been a frequent critic of Trump, recently saying that Trump "could be tweeting himself into an obstruction of justice conviction" over his tweet about the firing of Michael Flynn.
His comments come one day after a former Fox News host said that Trump tried to kiss her on the lips more than a decade ago.

(51,608 posts)I think that there is a very good chance that even if Mueller has a mountain of evidence regarding Russia it will still not be enough for the GOP Congress to impeach him. Nunez was just cleared...what does THAT show you?
It will probably come down to one of two things that will eventually nail the fucking moron and Jared...
1. The AGs in New York and Baltimore will get them for real estate fraud/possible money laundering.
2. The fake prez will either do something so completely crazy on live cameras that he will be put into a straitjacket and hauled off to the Mental Ward at Bellevue for life OR he will die of natural causes related to his high stress high fat, no exercise lifestyle.

(19,201 posts)Since Trump will never admit to any of his sexual misconduct, and there doesn't seem to be any physical evidence that could defeat him in a court of law, he's definitely going down on obstruction of justice, money laundering and probably as few other Federal statutes as well. But make no mistake, Trump is going down, and there's no way his battalion of lawyers is going to get him out of this one. This isn't a zoning violation he's up against here.

(19,201 posts)I'm not talking impeachment, I'm talking about criminal prosecution, not only on the Federal level, but on the New York State level as well. He's going down, but how long that will take is the question.

The 88 reasons Trump is unfit to serve as President, according to an official Democrats resolution
The list includes the President's remarks about women and his use of Twitter

Democrats in the US House of Representatives have brought a "no confidence" resolution detailing why they believe Donald Trump is unfit to serve as President of the United States.
The list contains 88 points of argument for why he is an unsuitable President and questions many of Mr Trumps business deals, his regular volleys against what he calls the fake news media, and his derogatory verbal attacks on women.
The resolution, brought by Rep. Steve Cohen has no chance of successfully passing through the Republican-led chamber, but it provides a reminder of many of the scandals that have hit the Presidency during Mr Trumps tenure.
Here is the complete list:
RESOLUTION Objecting to the conduct of the President of the United States.
