GOP considers letting tax cuts for families expire sooner

Source: The Washington Post

By Erica Werner and Damian Paletta December 14 at 1:03 PM

Congressional Republicans are looking at shortening the duration of tax cuts that their plan would give to families and individuals, a leading lawmaker said Thursday.

That change would free up more revenue for additional changes to their tax overhaul, but it could also heighten complaints that the bill prioritizes cuts for corporations over households.

Under a tax overhaul bill passed by the Senate earlier this month, tax cuts for all American households would expire at the end of 2025. But Republicans are now considering having those tax cuts expire in 2024.

“That’s one of the things we’re looking at,” Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin G. Hatch (R-Utah) said Thursday when asked about shortening the duration. “They’re looking at every possible thing they can to meet the revenue needs, as always at the end of the thing we’re looking at everything,” he said.

The one that got upset at Sherrod Brown for being accused of only helping rich people? Well, Orrin ... this is why!

when white males ran the world exclusively for their own benefit. Any white male had to be dumb as a bag of hammers not to get every opportunity to succeed in that culture. He is just another ass wipe that does not have a clue what working people have to overcome on a daily basis. Ever time Brown tried to say something, he was graveled down, but Hatch was allowed to throw a protracted hissy fit browbeating Brown without interruption, basically pukes are pure 100% arrogant pricks!!! Hatch has a special place reserved for him hell.

And, yes, I do suspect at least a few of the big dark-money people behind this probably do meet criteria to be diagnosed as psychopaths. One, of course, is lack of conscience.

Basically, by the time this is done I suspect the tax cuts for anyone other than the rich and corporations (the same thing, in essence) will be phased out by 2020. Just long enough to try and fool the rubes in the next presidential election

They are fucking not looking at everything. They are trying to squeeze the middle class poor more so they can give more to themselves and their rich donors. Raising the rates on the rich and rich corps. is not even being considered.
