Roy Moore fundraising for 'election integrity fund' ahead of election certification
Source: MSN/The Hill
Roy Moore's campaign announced Friday that it is seeking donations for an "election integrity fund" following the former judge's unsuccessful bid for an Alabama Senate seat.
Moore has refused to concede the race, which went to his Democratic opponent Doug Jones with 50 percent of the vote compared to Moore's 48 percent.
The campaign is seeking to meet a deadline to report cases of voter fraud before Alabama's secretary of state certifies the vote. The election will be certified between Dec. 26 and Jan. 3.
In a letter sent out to supporters, the campaign said its budget "ran through" on Tuesday, the night of the Alabama special election, and asked supporters to help raise another $75,000 to collect reports of "voter fraud and other irregularities at polling locations throughout the state."

I think it must irritate Trump the degree to which Roy Moore is just copying his playbook. Stoke white resentment. Attack women accusers. Complain about people crossing the border to vote illegally. I think the media gives Trump's administration a free pass, since they are saying Moore should concede when he has raised the same questions regarding the legitimacy of elections that Trump has raised.

(19,860 posts)Doug Jones won by more than 1.x %. This is just a way for Moore to cheat his base out of money.

(4,266 posts)He can still have a recount, but in this case, the vote margin is large enough that he'd have to pay for it on his own.
That said, yes, he's still swindling people out of their money for a hopeless cause. If it had been close enough for a 0.5% recount? Yeah, I might be concerned, but not a 2% difference.
Funniest part to me is that I honestly think he believes he won. I remember his dumbfounded expression on election night when the networks and parties started calling it for Jones.

Maddow was saying that the Sec. of State in AL was misquoting the law. What you said would be true for a state office, but not a federal office.
Moore can't believe the deity he worships is letting him down.
