Sarah Palin's oldest son, Track, arrested on domestic violence charges
Source: L.A. Times
Track Palin, the oldest son of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, was arrested Saturday in Alaska on charges of domestic violence. It marks the second time hes been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence in two years.
The charges seem to stem from an incident in his familys hometown of Wasilla, though further details about what happened were not immediately available.
Palin, 28, was arraigned Sunday morning on three counts: felony burglary, misdemeanor reckless assault and misdemeanor criminal mischief for causing up to $500 in property damage, according to online court records. Each of the charges was related to domestic violence.
The felony burglary charge indicates Palin is accused of hurting or attempting to hurt someone while committing burglary.

This ought to be good for an invitation to the Whites House and the Republication nomination for Senator.

(14,864 posts)Unless it was his own house (or a family mermbers) he broke into, and the assault was against a family member, it wouldn't be a domestic case.

(19,204 posts)which is entirely possible with that idiot, and broke into the house, injuring her or some other family member in the process. Without any more details that would be my best guess.

(24,128 posts)He took a plea deal that resulted in some of the charges being dismissed, and he pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. His girlfriend later filed for custody of their child, and in January she requested a protective order against Palin.

However, he was in plenty of trouble before the military, that in fact led to his joining the military. I think whether he has PTSD or not, he's always had a hair-trigger temper.

The elder son of former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin was in jail on Sunday, facing assault and burglary charges in her home state of Alaska.
Track Palin, 28, appeared in state court in Palmer, Alaska, earlier in the day, on a felony burglary charge and misdemeanor assault and criminal mischief charges, court records showed. All the charges involved domestic violence, the records indicated.
It is not clear whether he entered a plea to the charges.

(7,947 posts)she was sure she was going to be a major player in his campaign and flying around in his private jet.
But then her stupid husband got badly injured in (no joke) a snowmobile accident, just when she was going to do a major appearance with Trump. And she had to fly home to pretend to be a wife, and that was the end of the Palin-Trump campaign.
The kids are screwy too. There's the daughter who had two children out of wedlock but was (literally) a spokesperson for the abstinence movement. And Track, who just keeps getting into that trashy trouble.
Scarsdale
(9,426 posts)was highly suspicious. Nobody found the snowmobile, just Todd, beaten to a pulp. Track was a suspect in that affair, too. The elder daughter has had at least 4 illegitimate kids, some live with her, others are - WHERE? One has DS, and was "adopted" by Sarah to cement her Christian values act. Great republican "family values" group, these Palins.

(3,168 posts)In many ways, Trump and Palin seem tailor-made for each other. They're both stupid, narcissistic, and love the limelight. I figured we'd be seeing her every time we turned around, and she has been strangely absent from all this. I wonder if something happened between them. Maybe Trump was afraid that Palin would upstage him?
Exactly what happened. You can't have two illiterate, narcissistic camera hogs on the same stage. Trump doesn't like anyone getting attention but him and she is the biggest attention whore on the planet, next to him.

I'm betting that both of his exes have restraining orders out, and I don't see any mention of violating a restraining or protective order. So I think maybe the domestic violence charge is against a family member, probably Todd Palin. He was badly injured in a snowmobile/snow machine accident a year or so ago, I think it was.

Hes a nobody. Hes not in a position of power. He isnt anyons role model. His only claim to fame is his mother.
Its different for his sister; she is (or at least was) a spokeswoman for the cause of abstinence being the only acceptable means of birth control. Her getting pregnant twice out of wedlock was worth noting.
But him...? Bleh.

Former vice presidential nominee Sarah Palins son, Track, was arrested Saturday night after he allegedly beat his father at his parents home, according to court documents obtained by the Los Angeles Times.
The confrontation started when Track Palin, 28, allegedly said he was coming over to the Palin residence in Wasilla, Alaska, to pick up a truck.
His father, Todd Palin, told him to stay away because Track Palin had been drinking and taking pain medication, the newspaper reported. However, Track Palin showed up anyway.
When he arrived, Todd Palin allegedly confronted Track Palin at the front door with a pistol. Track Palin then broke a window, entered the house and began beating his father, the newspaper reported.

(2,309 posts)Yes, NRA, a gun failed to prevent Track from beating his father. The latest report in the LA Times (see below) suggests the gun may have further provoked Track. It centainly didn't discourage him. There's that you don't pull a gun unless you're willing to use it. A gun was the wrong tool for the situation. The right tool was a phone to call the police.
I really feel sorry for the Todd Palin. He appears to have suffered a severe beating at the hands of his son. From the LA Times:
When policed interviewed Todd Palin, he was bleeding from multiple cuts to his head, and one ear was discharging liquid, documents say.
No one wants to be attacked by their son. No one wants to shoot their child. And no wants to be beaten bby their child.
The one good thing is that this was so outrageous Track might might realize he really needs to change and get help.
